Didn’t say, nor would I say one derogatory thing about the G87. I happen to enjoy both cars and am ecstatic BMW gives car lovers options. And as this post is now front page, I felt compelled to offer a counter opinion to yours of the G82. To each their own, but have never and will never understand the need to bash another car. Too each their own I guess…

The M4 is ugly. Ugliest of the 3, except the vert sort of works. The M2 is no looker, though. If you think it is, you should audition for the South Park smug episode. The M3 is least offensive because it's actually fairly attractive once past nose.
I just spent 2 days at Indy with BMW hopping between M2/3/4/5. I will echo the sentiment on the Cognac feeling cheap. It's not necessarily that it feels cheap, it's that it makes you notice how much cheaper the leather in the M2 is vs. the other cars. This contrast draws you to the same delta when you interact with the plastics - namely, the door cards. If you're not hopping in and out of the cars, you'd not notice. However, going from an M3/4 with full leather to the M2 is an eye opener. BMW's done a pretty good job of adding a lot of things not available on the F87 to the G87. Personally, I'd have a car with no HUD, fewer colors and made in Germany if it meant the leather and the interior plastics were the same. I'd even pay more for it.

Has your order yet been allocated and confirmed? I not, you may get a 2025 car and will have to respecify accordingly.
I originally ordered a 2024 M2 (black exterior and cognac interior). I fully agree with you that cognac interior pretty much makes this car in certain exterior colors - especially black. It is the old school classic later 1980s M5 combination, along with so many other German cars from that any other era. Yet once the 2025 power upgrade became formal in all practical terms, I instructed my dealership to hold my order for 2025 mod year allocation. So now I lose the gorgeous interior/exterior color combo I was so looking forward to and have to reconfigure the 2025 car. For me, a black interior and exterior just isn't an option. I like colors and tasteful color contrast. Also, "venting" on here is pretty much forbidden, even in cases where hard core mechanical engineering (I'm one) facts and mathematical proofs are presented. As is the case with pretty much everything else, it all boils down to emotional "belief" rather than actual fact and reason. Quote:

Glad I did not wait for the power bump (obviously none of us will see the difference in 90% of driving situations). The cognac was to important for me ! But would have loved Skycrapper grey with cognac. Anyway, black always works with cognac 😊 |

Interesting that something is "forbidden" here. Another thing forbidden should be harsh comments. The dude was just giving his opinion and I have to commend him on the fact that he kept his comments only on the car/BMW despite all the shots at him. Emotions? That's why these forums exist otherwise a 4 wheeler is only a 4 wheeler. Anyway, looking to order in Irish or Urban green if Ind opens full force but I am sure the availiable colors would be limited. Sad to see Cognac gone and don't understand the logic behind it at all!

Can’t help but to think this will raise demand for the G87.

Both are good colours but can’t help but feel there like just slightly worse versions of the colours we got on the previous M's Yas Marina blue looks more special than Zandvoort and feel the same San Marino blue compared to Portimao. Miss the days of plenty of M specific colours. For me Cognac is far to much like my grandfather sitting room, but are sad seeing proper options fall away. Miss the light grey leather that used to be common across the ranges. |

Are you able to see if this option is also showing up for the MY25 3 series seeing as they are both produced in the same factory?

M2 buyers likely fall into 2 primary camps: 1. The M2, nicely-equipped, is at the top of their budget. 2. The M3/4 is within their budget, but they realize they can get the same performance while sacrificing just a few features for significantly less $. Maybe those complaining about no brown seats are in camp 1?

That’s absolutely ridiculous…. Not trying to be sarcastic at all. How can you charge for black. (rhetorical ) It’s akin to charging for clear coating the car. |

Its just a flat bottomed steering wheel. Would I prefer it, yes (if it had been available). Would it matter if I was buying the car and it wasn't available, not in the least bit (depending on your mindset and budget, an aftermarket or the soon to be released OEM can be had for just under $1k and up). |
