Interior is horrible. The dashboard sucks. New X5 is so much nicer.

Looks like the M Sport steering wheel is the old version (from X3, not from new models). Also as others have said the interior is dated, the X3 was one of the last models to feature the built into dash Nav screen. After driving my 335i on a daily basis and then getting into my wife's X3, I much prefer the new screen placement, looks much nicer and is easier to see.
I really wanted to like the X4, but I can't see buying an OLD model with a new exterior, which is all this is. For coming out 3-4 years after the F25 X3, they really should have given it the new 335i / X5 interior look. The Audi SQ5 is really looking like the best option in the $55K-$60K range now (with options). |

---- Give it a chance people, BMW forum members crack me up... Prototype: Wow, that thing is so ugly, dated and I don't understand why it exists. Concept release: Wow, that thing is starting to grow on me. Release: Wow, I really like that thing! Yes, the interior is different than most "modern" BMW's. Its based on the X3 which has been out for sometime now, so it will have the same (older) interior. Thats ok, I happen to like the X3 interior myself. No, it doesn't hold a candle to the new X5/X6, but there is nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it, don't buy one.

not only that...they are comparing this interior to the upper class BMW. I like this interior language more than the new 3 series. |

A lot of people are asking who this car is for . . . it seems like a vehicle without a market.
I'm pretty sure I'm the target customer . . . and I'm pretty sure there aren't a ton of prospects out there that are looking for what I am, so who knows if this will sell well. I really like my X3. I bought it as my DD to go along with my Aston 'fun' car. I wish I had picked up the 35i with the variable suspension so I'd have something sportier (I didn't think it would be a big deal since this was just my DD). I'm single and while I love the utility of the X3 when I need it, I don't need it all that often - I've only once had 3 passengers in the car in 2 years. So, for me, I'd love a more stylish and sportier vehicle (which all the 'even number' cars are supposed to be for BMW), even if that means sacrificing some utility and interior space. So, I'm pretty interested in this vehicle . . . except, the interior kind of sucks. I want the interior from the X5. I want something much more luxurious than the current X3 interior and I'd be happy to pay for it. I also would be fairly interested in an X4M.

So what's the purpose of this car?
Wagon on steroid? Wait no, this even looks shorter than the wagon. What really is it? Is it a Infiniti EX???? Oh no..... |

Was considering this to replace my 3 series but the interior is a fail, I like the way the screen is on my 3 and the new x5 and even old x6 have a nicer interior. I may have to wait for the redesigned X6 which should be more in line with the new design language BMW is using both on the outside and inside or even wait for this to be redesigned a year or 2 after, the current X3 should be due for a midcycle refresh soon and I think this one would come right after. Dissapointed with the fact that the interior looks like an E90
