So Rory's working for Autotrader now, odd review he says the car is too harsh yet complains the gear changes are too smooth, says it lacks drama yet then says it's always aggressive and finishes saying you'd only buy the car as a statement/to show off but had previously said it's too quiet.
He meets himself coming backwards in an attempt to damn it with some faint praise, out of all the reviews (the lovers and the haters) I keep coming back to the Matt Saunders review at Autocar a really balanced review from someone who knows his cars.

all these guys are ridiculous. basically they want this M car's handling to be sporty, steering to be heavy and precise, minimal body roll in the curves, and the suspension to be... plush soft?

285 kph in the wet is uh, something. I've been waiting for this one. Max on AutotopNL really knows his stuff and is an excellent driver. A real enthusiast who gets it right. No comment about lag but notice he keeps revs 3k+ at all times. He does feel it is brutally stiff though. |

Although I don't know what he's saying, this appears to be a well-done Review with a knowledgeable Driver. Segment 6:35'-7:25' was interesting to see, and 1:35'-3:10' showing the reaction of his children to acceleration is classic. Would be interested in his summary thoughts on the X3MC if someone understands the language.

I am about to sell my 2020 M340i and am exploring new car options and want everyone's opinion. Midsize sedan seems good.
I'm a college student interested in outdoor-type activities and want something with enough space and power. Interior matters too! What are good things about the X3MC? Bad things?? And what are your lease deals you paid for. Are there any other cars I should check out? |

- Engine performance - Potential for tuning (~700hp with just software) especially on ethanol - Brakes (power, modulation, pedal feel, fade resistance) - The Competition sport seats (comfy and supportive) - Technology (i-Drive infotainment, screen, Driving Assistance Pro, augmented reality and self-park) - Cargo and rear passenger space (much better than the Macan) Bad things - Ride quality (comfort mode isn't plush and isolating, compared to Macan) I'll revisit if I think of more "bad things". I've been searching for cars for the past four months intensely. It came down between a Macan or X3M. I just order an X3MC today. The Macan is amazing balance of performance and comfort. But the X3M is way faster (mostly in a straight line) and more fun to drive. |

Not a complete review, but this may give insight before I make a full blown review after a month or so of ownership |

You know what....there is no right answer here, all that matters is how you like the car and if your willing to spend your cash on one. I have one and love it and compare it to a 911 4s which it is faster, some may say I'm crazy for feeling this way, I don't care, I drove both and this is my conclusion, so better for me because the x3m is much cheaper and had lots of room which is why you buy and suv in the first place. don't feel I'm making and compromises at all.
everybody has their opinion so just read them and don't let it sway you from your own feelings. there is always an opinion out there, someone somewhere will hate a Porsche or a Ferrari, and you may think how is that so. Somebody thinks Margot Robbie is ugly, (not me).....she is gorgeous in my opinion......so live and let live. |
