The X3/4M base has Vernasca Leather as standard with option for Merino. The X3/4M Competition has Merino Leather as standard

Fake leather is good and durable. Real cowhide is overrated and looks crappy after a few years of use.

Given where he strictly drove during the entire review, I couldn't really disagree with him. His opinion has merit but not everyone lives in the UK with roadways similar to filmed his review.
Perhaps he needs to do a follow up with more variety of roads i.e. road trip across EU. |

This dude's reviews are just painful because he's so slow on his delivery and I believe he likes the sound of his own voice...that walk around was so far behind and now this full review is simply boring. Besides that he's wearing that same tired shirt from the first review! He's not an exciting reviewer. He should just stop and let the pros have at it.

I drove the X3M Comp on the M Town Tour and I don't quite get how Joe can complain about the suspension considering he and I both have an M2C. The X3MC was stiff, even in comfort mode, but no where near as stiff as my little M2C on it's static suspension. Also, I went from a B58 to the S55, and even on the S55 the torque comes in at higher RPM's than the B58. On my M2C, I'm almost always in manual mode on the highway to keep the engine from going into 7th outside of real cruising to avoid the RPM's dropping too low. The S55 is gutless at 1300 RPM's, as well. I wasn't expecting the S58 to change that other than likely having to avoid both 7th and 8th gear instead of just 7th. Joe's M2C is a manual, so perhaps he just doesn't realize that the situation with low-end power exists on the S55, just as much as it clearly exists on the S58.

I watched that review and then compared to my drive in an X3M a few days ago and I simply don't know what he is on about, the engine has lashings of torque, the gearbox is perfectly matched and whip crack sharp, the ride is firm but comfortable (just like it should be) In the review he holds it in a high gear manually at very low revs to try and make a point but in an M car that revs to over 7k and wants to be spanked it's a moot point.
The comparison car for the day was my G11 7er on air suspension so as a back to back against the X3M if it was as Joe says it is then I'd have noticed. (he runs a 7er as well oddly enough) I can't say he didn't feel that way as I'm sure he's not making it up but I guess that's the issue with reviewers that aren't pros they have a very narrow and personal view. Another point to note is the rear tyres have more sidewall than any other M car I've had at 265x40 compare that to the M3 CP at 285X30 in fact they are deeper than the 20" on my 7er....

Id7 sucks! Looks super generic! Especially in the 8 series! No Id7 is why I upgraded from m40i
