Do you think a blue exterior pairs well with red leather?

A lot of people do. It's the superman combo! Not for me though.

The so-called "Superman" look....I've seen this on 2 and 3 Series...if you understand the intent, it is quite striking. Others may see it as a mis-build. If you're motivated more by satisfying yourself than worrying about others, enjoy your choice!

That was my build. Blue / Red interior. I often got compliments. Just sold it though...waiting on my X3MC on Oct 26!
Go for it. Awesome combo.

If I like something, I wouldn't let others sway my decision. I'm just curious what other people think about this particular color combo.

In my view, and it is just my view, don't expect others to agree, I don't think a red interior suits an SUV. I thinks it's more a sports car, or sports saloon (sedan) colour.
I just had red in my 440i, which I really liked, but I didn't consider it for the X3. |

Traditionally with Blue I'd pick Oyster or a tan colour. So much of the market says we need a black interior for resale reasons, which is ridiculously conservative and I fight against.
I get the Superman combo reasoning but question whether it's a short-term fashion, to my eye it's not a natural pairing for an X3 / X4 but others like it and I understand the reasoning.

I have a Phytonic blue with the red/black uprated leather on my M40i ... I love it.
I was after a black car with black leather but saw this one and bought it. With a Pano roof it really lightens the car up and having had my last 2 BMW's with red leather I think it is both striking and easy to clean. Other than an A45, in the last 8 years I have had 4 cars with red inside and 2 with Canberra beige. The red certainly looks striking and keeps cleaner. |
