Anyone been to Paris

Hi,

I will be travelling to Paris for 4 days and was wondering if anyone here has been lately?

If so, what do you recommend seeing?

So far, i will be going to arc de triomph, Eiffel tower, Latin Quarter, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre. Anything else a must see?

Thanks

Check the musee d'orsay. It's right down the street from musee du louvre and is often overlooked. Not as big as the Louvre (still a very good size) and they have many van gogh, Manet, monet, etc. Well worth the visit

Also they have a skyscraper in the actual downtown city part that you can pay to go to the observation deck and get a great view of the entire historical part of the city. I forget the name of the building but I can look it up if you're interested.

EDIT: found it

Paris is the last place in Europe I'd be looking to be visiting at the moment......

(well, not without some self protection of one of my Lee-Enfield's and a reasonable supply of .303 that is )

I enjoyed getting drunk in paris lol. French wine is so good.

Palace of Versailles
Luxembourg gardens

Take a boat cruise at night. Worth it.

I really enjoy not doing anything in particular in Paris. Great city to just walk around, stop when you like, enjoy life.

This, very much so. Much more enjoyable than the tourist attractions.

I agree with this guy. Make sure you budget time to just walk around, the city is beautiful. Definitely make sure to explore the crypt that's under the arc de triumph. Go to the eiffel tower at night to watch the light show, bring some wine and chill on the lawn. Don't go to the eiffel tower during the day, it looks like a dump. Also, the louvre is huge so you could easily spend 4 hours there if you wanted to.

Don't buy beer from the street vendors, I bought one and noticed it tasted a little weird, and the "heineken" sticker glue was dissolving- so I'm pretty sure it was fake beer.

I've been to Paris a few times, as other have said its a great city to just be in.

If you have an interest in WW1 you can do a day trip out to The Somme battlefields, absolutely enthralling and heartbreaking at the same time.

When I was there last my Wife, Son and I did a personalised tour where the guide found my relatives grave sites. Highly recommend this if you have an interest. Happy to give you the guides contact if you are interested.
