1200 miles oil change?

Is it necessary for new cars? Thanks.

no, it's necessary to cover your car when it's raining.

Unlike “Full” M vehicles the M40i and/or 30i doesn’t require a 1200 mile oil service, although I will likely get it done between 3k - 5k, then 7500k thereafter.

I called a garage that works exclusively on BMW, Audi and MB. While its not "necessary", they advise/recommend the first oil change @ 5,000 miles. YRMV.

You are so right. I forgot that on my F30. Went 21000 miles without a change...big mistake!! It cost me over $750.00 to replace the blinker tank because it was all gummed up.

Damn, don't know why they don't talk about this in the manual?
