Their mpg measurement different than US, I owned many M cars and never seen 27mpg lol, unless you are on new electic one))

Btw also shopping and looking into x3m and m40i’s at this moment, it seeks from what I read x3m gets same mpg as x5m that I recently sold.

For mpg wise best car I owned was F10 M5 tuned around 700 whp, used to get city high mix 19 mpg without babying the car))
Only highway beat I’ve seen 24 mpg.

I appreciate all the input from the group here. After many hours (days) of consideration, I took a much different direction and purchased a 2022 Audi RS5.

Recognizing I’ll be voted off the island - but this has been a great community. I’m sure I’ll be back given how often I change cars!

Nice. A RS5 was in the running for me as well. Not a crazy choice. I like CBB. I bought my M240 from them.

Enjoy.

Thanks!

The experience with CBB was great - especially living out of state. Would highly recommend.

I drove an RS5 B9.5 as well and really liked the car and if buying used, they were within budget but I couldn't find one I really liked on the used market and ALL of them had the boring old black interior which I 100% did not want.

Congrats though. The one I drove, my friend has the integrated engineering tuning thing and I drove it stock and with a 93 tune and then a few days later with full E85 and it was an absolute monster on E.

I have option to buy used 2021 X3M around 60k miles and 2k more expensieve or 2020 x3 m40i 12k miles still under warranty.

What do you guys think? I know M car is M car, but which one will make sense? And depreciation in next 2 years?

IDK,personally 60k is just too many miles for me. You'll hear opinions saying otherwise, but I'd try to find the lowest mileage vehicle you possibly can.

Yes.. I was actually surprised that I could get the stated figures..

The road was mostly flat, 36psi which ends up at about 40ish psi round, AC off as it was going to winter time and sport engine and gearbox on 1.

Oh yes and UK mpg

X3M is an awesome sporty car.
The X5 M50i is on a different league. The luxury and comfort is going to be at least 2 steps above. If I could go back, I’d probably go with an X5 M50i over a X3M due to bigger space and much more comfier seats in the back for passengers.

What makes the X3M imo better for me in terms of performance is the S58 engine. It’s legendary. Everytime I push the car it brings a huge smile on my face and forget all the cons. This thing is a rocket.

You will probably see better gas mileage (if this matters at all) on the S58 engine over the V8 in the X5 M50i. The engine will probably sound better and have a deeper tone on the M50i.

Both cars are awesome, the M50i if you value comfort then is the clear winner.

If you don’t mind the stiffer suspension then the X3M is a good choice.

As mentioned above, if I had the opportunity to go back and change I’d probably go with the M50i.
