BMW Mobility Kit experience?
Hey all - It's getting close to time to replace the tires on both my wife's and my X3s. She's at about 4 mm and I'm probably not far behind. She has the 18" tire option and I will probably stick with the RFTs for many reasons, not least of which is that it's a safer option for her.
That said, I have the 19" tires and there are fewer "good" RFT options for my car. I've been reading through various posts and know there are several options (Michelin, Continental, etc) if I decide to ditch the RFTs. My commute includes many roads I would not want to try and change a tire on so just buying a spare doesn't make sense. But I also don't want to just wait for roadside assistance. There are several posts that mention the BMW Mobility Kit but I couldn't find any that actually detail their use or just how user-friendly they actually are. So my question is the whether anyone has had experience with the BMW Mobility Kit? It looks relatively simple but I've never used anything like that before and was hoping others could provide insights or a review? Thanks!

isn't just an air pump, gloves and air gauge with tire sealant? if you have a puncture like a nail
better off getting air pump and tire plug kit from amazon. or a can of fixaflat. its cheaper than BMW version. Beware tire sealant can cause damaged to the TPMS sensor. https://www.amazon.com/Fix-Flat-S604...a-841383129084 These are just a few out of many. https://www.amazon.com/BETOOLL-Repai...54&sr=8-5&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Compr...94&sr=8-4&th=1 I carry a tire plug kit and a milwaukee air pump when I switched to NON RFT. |

I’ve had 2 punctures in my life. Both times in a BMW with the mobility kit. Both times it didn’t do jack sh*t and left me stranded since the hole was bigger than tire sealant can handle. So I would just count on calling a tow truck next time.

Thanks, this is what I was concerned about. My office is near Capital One Arena and my commute includes Georgetown Pike, 495, GW Parkway, and downtown DC streets...the last thing I want is to deal with a flat tire. It's the one reason I haven't completely shut the door on RFTs.
