F30 Steering wheels on F25?
hey, was wondering if the performance wheels for the f30 would fit the f25 as from what i can tell they are both using the same steering wheel.

I have done loads of steering wheel swaps, from the E36 days through to retrofitting the M5 wheel on my 535d back in 2005 when everyone said it can't be done.
Loads of them on eBay and all listed as F25... We talking about this wheel? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-BM...item5d5a0f18a6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-F30-F3...item3cfc354419 |

I'm confused because most sellers list for f30, f25 together, but the one link you posted lists f25 along with f15. I thought the f15 wheel was totally different? Or will the f15 wheel fit the f25 too? I'm just a bit hesitant because I've seen someone buy an f10 wheel for an f30, and it didn't fit lol. So should I go ahead and order the f30 wheel for my x3? I don't want to be in the same situation as above, where the centre bolt itself didn't fit. Last edited by akshay1234; 07-14-2015 at 02:42 AM.. |

Ok so I've ordered the wheel. So I'll be adding the paddles and this beautiful wheel at the same time. Hope it all goes smooth!

Do you need a new slip ring to add paddles? Also, I wonder about the steering column cowl? I wonder if the F25 cowl is too big? Not trying to worry you, I am sure it will be fine, but look forward to your results. |

Also a dealer here has retrofitted paddles on a few X3s (they only changed the steering, and did some wiring). I've got the wiring details from patryk at bimmer tech. Hope the steering reaches me soon (damn Indian customs will mess it up). I'm only worried about coding, since the F25 doesn't seem to have any SZL module to code. Possibly VO coding 2TB to the car will work, since paddles are an option on the X3. As for the column cowl, to be honest even the F10 had a similar shape and size steering wheel, and they switched to this smaller M sport with the faclift and I don't think the cowl is changed. Assuming the X3 cowl will be similar in size to the F10s so I think it should fit fine. |

The wheel will be in my hands by day after tomorrow. Will go to the dealership the day after I get it to install it, and get the necessary wiring done.
