FWIW, my status also has switched to 'scheduled for production'; I was told I'm week 18 (was 14 or 15, got pushed back -- got allocation in early march). w/ driver assist, parking, premium, hk.

maybe these aren't actually (normally) done in batches but it seems like a similar if not identical timeline for a lot of people with m40 orders in the forums, these might have been more 'batched' due to wait for some part or something.

one of the bmw genius people I spoke to said that shipping was taking longer than usual (usual for SC->NY being a few days to a week apparently?) because of trucking/trucker issues. That delay would seem to make PCD a more attractive option but still not sure it's worth the extra time/trip...

Different problem for me. I’m a week 15, my M40i completed production April 14 but the earliest PCD slot I can get is the week of May 15 😭😭😭. Anyone know if they will store it indoor or will it be sitting out in the elements for 4 weeks?

Ooh, I'm in PA as well! I talked to Genius this morning and they said my car is scheduled for completion April 28th. I know it's being made in Mexico, so I'm wondering how long it will take to get to the dealership in Philadelphia and by what means of transport... Any ideas?

A friend just got an M240i to Pgh from Mexico. It took a boat to Philly, bounced to Baltimore, and then rode a truck to Pgh. I think about two weeks. But it sat in a lot in Mexico for a week or so.

I broke down and called the hotline again today since my status changed to scheduled for production. My week 18 is now week 19. He said week of May 8th is currently showing.

So I'm officially a week 19 build now.

This is what happened to me as well.
On the web-site it is showing scheduled for production and my current build week is week 19.
Hope mine goes into the production soon so that I can get the car by mid May.

It’ll sit in that status (begins) for a bit then all of a sudden you’ll move through all the steps in two days or less. Glad to see you’ve finally had some movement!

Hey Guys,

Another M40i guy here, same story. Ordered the car early February, got my allotment around the first week of March, was supposed to be built week 14/15, Ukraine war hit was taken off the schedule and now the latest update is/was week 18, status changed to "scheduled" last week!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person who checks the website everyday obsessionally. I can't wait! I left a job that gave me a "work truck" so I've been carless and driving my fathers "beater wood truck" since renting a car is like $2500/month right now and not practical.

Placed Order on April 7th with local dealership - got $750 off MSRP, received allocation/production # a week later, immediately added the shadowline package.

Called the Genius few days later and was informed it's scheduled for Week 21

I just inquired on putting in a special order at my local dealer and they said earliest delivery would be end of year 2022 and it would be a 2023 build.

I think the car industry is at its worst point right now than ever before.

I do feel lucky. I was tempted to wait until this fall to order but after reading so many articles and posts that the industry was still not at the bottom of its problems. I placed the order. Frankly I think many industries are benefiting from all of this turmoil…
