I installed a Meyers Snow Plow on my 2006 e83 x3
I bought a 2006 M54 3.0L 6spd Msport that was totaled due to a slight hit in the front. I figured since I'd be cutting up the front end, it was a perfect candidate for this experiment.
I was trying to make the plow frame so that it would universally mount to any x3. However, after some contemplation I figured they best way to accomplish a stronger mount was to weld in a couple 1/4" plates to the front subframe: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aTZ...ew?usp=sharing You can see them welded to the subframe in this picture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mS-...ew?usp=sharing The plow frame is pretty much even with the bottom of the front subframe and in front of the lower portion of the radiator: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y_E...ew?usp=sharing Some grade 9 bolts attach the angle iron to the subframe and the new welder is making me look pretty good if I do say so myself. (I'm not a very good welder) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t-L...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HTL...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by Prussian_Motors; 12-18-2020 at 11:46 AM.. |
