Is there a way to use this library as a centralized psdzdata for ista and esys? Without having duplicates?

Hello shawnsheridan,

I have an F11 from 2013 running latest I-Step version (F010-21-03-520). I need to do some coding only, so lite version should be enough.
I already have PSdZDATA 4.29 LITE, but older E-sys. FDL editing is not possible because I see only dots into.

Could you please help me with the right E-sys to perform this coding? Or do you have another scenario for that?

Also, I've sent you a PM

Use a Symbolic Link (MLINK) between ISTA psdzdata folder and empty E-Sys psdzdata folder.

Perfect. That worked! If I overwrite these Full psdzdata to the ones on the ista data folder, would ista still work?

That I don't know. I always update complete ISTA folder, not just the PSdZData on the assumption there are other ISTA files that also need updating to support the new PSdZData.

Install this:

Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

The "Loading: E-Sys Launcher PSdZ API Module Failed!" error is missing Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 as I wrote above.

Setting Launcher Memory too high is a different issue, that will cause E-Sys to just close without error.

I have an old version of ISTA and a K+DCAN USB cable.
Worked well with my e90. The last time I used it was about 5-6 years ago.
Will this combo work on my 2011 F25 to clear codes and check vehicle?

You can use ISTA, but you likley need newer versions, and you need an ENET Cable.

Thanks. So the USB connection nor good for checking vehicle status, erasing codes, stuff like that?
I thought the enet is needed only for coding and stuff.
I looked around the web and I can find newer versions to download. What I have is from Europe, and in order to work I had to give the vendor some laptop info, then everything worked really well.
Is there a an easy to use/follow tutorial on how to install make ISTA work? reason I'm asking, I found a few but they are not really user friendly. More of a headache which pushes you to get something I dint really like like Carly and stuff
And I haven't read this whole post - too many pages, maybe the answer is in one of them, but hard to get through hundreds of pages

Thanks

You need ENET Cable for F-Series. I have no idea on ISTA Tutorial.

I forgot.
Also there are multiple places where to buy this enet cable, but again I read that some don't work. How would you recognize a good cable on the net? What to look for?
thanks

It's a simple device, just an Ethernet Cable with a Resistor. Any ~$20 ENET Cable off Amazon should work fine.

Y'all need some some help. (Nothing new)
I recently purchased a CPO 2818 5501 (G30)

This past weekend my check engine light turned on after a semi hard acceleration. The engine lost power and acted like a misfiring. After power cycle the light turned off. But it happened again and has remained on.

I do have an enet and usb K+DCam cables used previously on my 2013 335i.
But a machines later lost software, links to obtain them and reading thru the posts seems like things have changed a little. So beck to noob state.

Looking for someone that could help me get back running so I may diag and later possible code minor changes to it. Any help is appreciated. (as of this post PMs as still disabled, 3 more to go)
