Hey Everyone,

Apologies for creating yet another thread on a topic that might have been discussed many times now. Yet, it seems not all users have been successfully in getting this resolved. Some have and some have not. I am going through all this trouble trying to get android auto activated on my vehicle. Produced 6/2020 with all the necessary hardware option codes. How do I try and explain to my dealer to update to version 20-07 or later. Is this the idrive software version or the navigation version? I spent an entire day yesterday with the dealer and they said it cannot be done. It is frustrating.

Wanted to post an update on this post. I thankfully got the dealership to fully update the software on the idrive and got android auto installed on the car. Yay. It even came with several other goodies as well. Plus the car started getting several OTA updates to maps and other services too automatically.

I would say, for anyone going through this, if your car meets all the hardware requirements, be persistent. The'll get it done. Some dealerships just are not equipped with enough knowledge on this topic.
