Florida lease taxes
Hi,
I’ve just got a lease offer from Braman in SF and noticed that they started to tax at 7% Acquisition Feed and Dealer Fees. Is it “normal” ? Last time I leased from them 3 years ago, they taxed(sales tax) only the downpayment. Thanks. |

I dug into it a bit more and apparently there was a law change in 2022 which requires dealers tax all "services" such as Acquisition, Dealer "preparation" etc. So on top of bullshit fees, you have to pay state tax on them. I hear some Florida folks buy/lease cars from Georgia/ North Carolina to avoid the offensive dealer markup. In my case, the fees alone are about $3K while 3 yars ago they were about half of that. |

Are we talking Miami, WPB, or Jupiter? I bought 3 from WPB and had nothing but good experiences there.

Jupiter.
Three years ago, I had good experience there but not this time. As I said, they doubled their fees in comparison to three years ago to about $3K. I understand inflation and such, but it does look excessive. |

Avoid Braman at all coats. They are overpriced. Try Coggin.
