High RPM When Cold and Brakes Applied

I live in a bit of a hill. Start the cold car in the morning. Normal idle. Start down the hill and apply the brakes and RPM rises significantly. Foot off the brake, RPMs return to normal.

This only applies to maybe the first 30sec of driving.

Anyone else have this happen?
Rationale?

when i cold start, the rpm is higher than normal. let brake off and it drops to normal when the car start to move (not throttle applied). when i apply the brakes the rpm only goes back up when the car stops.

Could be efficient dynamics trying to warm car up quickly since the car knows it’s low load driving ie)down hill and braking? Just a guess. I’ve never noticed in mine

This must be a part of the warm up still. This happens after I pull out of the garage, and pull up to the street waiting for traffic to pull out onto the road. Even though I'm in D still, it feels like it goes back into neutral and the revs climb.
