The configurator is all over the place, so I wouldn't trust it.

On my spec it has option 26W "deletion of wireless charging", which also triggers 32Z "Digital Key Deletion".

There's nothing under Z0T "Tech PLus Pack" on my spec that mentions bluetooth, and it details the pack as 5AU,5DN,610,688,6DR and 6U8.

The module that controls wireless charging does more than just that, hence the deletion of other features. IIRC it's also required the near field signal for the digital key, enhanced phone signal etc

Just come off the chat with BMW Genius. The whole option will be removed.

No second microphone for the passenger and inability to pair a second phone are the ones that will annoy me.

The did say they would expect the car to only come with one USB, but not sure where they were on about as the car comes with 2 in the back also.

They did say that CarPlay will still work, which is my major use case.

I was wondering if anyone has had a car delivered yet with Z6W can confirm what it does and does not come with?

I would strongly advise against that. It's going to do the opposite of what you think.

The dealer will just have you by the balls knowing you aren't walking away from your 20% deposit as the factory deletes more features from your car. The dealer has virtually no sway on the options being removed. They just submit the order and then BMW AG takes it from there.

So I'm going to make a thread on this, but I've heard from 2 different genius reps that once your vehicle enters "Production Begins" you're in the clear.

Supposedly your order can't enter that stage unless all parts are gathered that are needed to build it. If anything gets deleted - it will be before your order enters that stage.

That might be true. My car had satellite radio deleted on the evening of 9/24 and then it went into production the morning of 9/25. I've seen reports of people who are still in "production scheduled" getting their satellite radio re-added but mine still has the delete. Guess it's too late to modify because it's in production? Oh well, I'd rather have the $350 than the satellite radio honestly.

Curious - what model you ordered? I mean my thinking is, if you were BMW or any other company, and had such delays, what would you do? I'm think M40[d,i] versus other models.

If you had 100 cars to produce and 25 of those cars cost x, the rest y. x is 20% greater than y. You would prioritize those that gave you the most return?

Just a thought - I wonder how they operate.

Placed order for the 40d fully loaded on the 6th of September and still no status update. Except for the wireless charging the dealer was able to add all options (HK, DA prof., ...).

Save common tech for higher range, more profitable (?) M, X5, X7, 5, 6, 7 series.

Is the online tracker very slow to update for everyone else once it hits the production begins stage?

My X3 M40i hit the production begins stage on 9/20 and is still at that stage. I called the genius line today and they said it was scheduled to finish production by tomorrow 10/1. I hope they're correct.

When did you get the VIN number, don't have one of those yet.

I'm using the website mygarage.bmwusa.com to track the status. It showed the vin # once it hit the production begins stage.
