Need to see them in person, but initial impression is that they look too narrow. Merc equivalents both c43 and c63 both look wider and better to these eyes. (For the record I can't afford either nor would I buy one of these over the equivalent sedans.)

You Canadians/Americans are so lucky in terms of pricing, not sure you all realize it. I'm jealous! My X3, albeit well-optioned, is still a 20i and MSRP in the lovely Netherlands was €83K and some change. Translates to 94k USD. base price of a 1.8L diesel X3 here is €60K. And that's with a manual. Ouch! Don't we love CO2 and weight based taxes?
With the base M40i starting at €110k, I'm expecting the X3 M to be around €160k, 200k + USD

That doesn't make much sense to me as a consumer correct me if I should think any differently. The new 3 series will have a more advanced iDrive system than an M sport car that is coming out after it?

Solid addition to the M line-up.
It's amazing to me how the X4M looks like sex, yet the series version X4 looks like unwiped ass! Absolutely amazing job on the design. |

I did not use the navigation in my f80 For awhile. I used my phone. What I did check was tire pressure, suspension tires etc. On a side note I've read when the engineers had a choice to make; make car luxurious or perform better they chose performance. That warms my heart. Example rear ended axle on M3 all welded the standard 3 series is not. Judicious use of aluminum on M3 etc Floating calipers etc |

okay cool then these cars can at can one point be had for a very, very good deal as well. 2-3 years and they'll hit a 50% depreciation rate just like every other M model and i doubt the x3 will be the one to break the mold. apples to apples my friend.

what's with this trend of making the wheels/tires SMALLER??! For M cars, even in the X3/4 line, they should be WIDER, not thinner.
I hope this trend doesn't continue in the M3/4 line... that would suck. it takes away some of the aggressive and sporty look of it.

17k miles and 29k miles respectively. Did you own both to justify your statement? |

X3M wins the heavyweight championship of all competitors at 4,620 lbs curb weight, average 300+ lbs heavier. F80 M3 is 3,605 lbs, one can only speculate if G80 M3 can remain the same weight or less (1000+ lbs reduction), we may see more aggressive 0-60 number. |

3:10 on this video to hear more of the exhaust. Sounds pretty good. More like a B58 with its deeper exhaust sound but at the end of the sound clip you can hear more of the S55's signature raspiness with higher revs under load.

Look at the C63 vs GLC63 3987 for C63S 4517 for GLC63S 530 lb difference Not that I expected X3M to weigh 4150 lbs (granted that would be awesome) |

torque max from I6/V6 turbo engines?
I noticed Audi, Porsche, Alfa, and BMW all are at 442/443 torque on their 6 cyl turbos, looks like they hit the limit! Guess that's one big plus to the V8 (Merc 516 and Jaguar 502 torque). |
