I need to take off the 20” winter set with the pirellis and install my summer set 21” and the Michelin 4S to see how they compare.

It also feels like they remapped the accelerator pedal.
It maybe feels more linear.
Before the update if you are accelerating in efficient mode and switched to sport there was a more noticeable increase in rate of acceleration. Now it’s more tame.
But sport plus gives a significantly bigger boost.
I'm excited about this.

I must admit, I've never used sport mode only sport+.

It's either off or on for me!

1.) How do I ask the dealership for the ISTEP update in a way that will most reliably work?
2.) How do I ask for the ASD to be "deleted" in a way that will most reliably work?

(I'd rather not pay for the tech time, if I can have BMW/NA pay instead)
For #1, there are some tips in the thread. I would target issues that it fixes.

For #2, they will not do anything but you can easily do it yourself on a 2020 by pulling fuse 218 in the trunk or coding out with Bimmercode. Not sure what changed with iDrive 7 so check the forum to see what those with the 2021s are doing.

Yeah my imprint still shows the same 11/19 value in the manual. The driver profile export shows the 21 value.

Thank you so much. I just exported the file and it's the latest ISTEP version.

I'm not sure the "imprint" thing shows the ISTEP version. I don't think it does on my car at least (2020, late 2019 build).

Try exporting your driver profile. This is what mine shows: <i-step>S15A-21-03-535</i-step>.

If I do the imprint thing, it shows November 2019. It also says my car is ID5, so...
Thanks for saving me on this. I was a bit mad why the dealership didn't do what they stated. Anyway the exported file presents the latest ISTEP version here.

Does anyone know how to check the istep version on an idrive 7 car? Profiles are cloud based and I cannot see any way to export one.

Just checked on the X3 forums, the "imprint" search is the way to do it. Just make sure you've redownloaded the manual or use the app instead.

So this shows that I am on the "03/21" ISTEP.

I lost the connection casually and couldn't reconnect until turn off the ignition.

Really appreciate OP on this sharing because it's a big time improvement for the suspension and great enhancement on the Lan departure as well. Now I really don't have the complaint for my X3MC....

Ah, I have this issue too. Super annoying. You told the dealership about this and they upgraded the istep?

Seems like the better strategy would be to tell them about the lane keep pulling you out of your lane.

Yes and they will tell you to reset your phone etc. Just tell them you have done everything and followed the process, but it still didn't work. Then just request the software update, you also can state that your car never got the software upgrade.

That is strange, prior to the update, the Imprint showed July 19 but when I pickup the car it showed Mar 21 (I was not leaving without seeing it).

Software Update

Just got my car back from the dealer and they did the update. Drives 100 times better when on the stiffest suspension setting no more chop, shifting not so jerky feels more refined. I am glad they did it for me and highly advise getting it done. Not sure about any other changes but if anyone can tell me what to look for I will report back. Thx

Got mine done this week as well. I am shocked at how big an improvement this is for the vehicle. It feels so much more composed and refined as opposed to a "beta version"

Reporting similar findings to what others are saying:
- Comfort suspension mode is actually an accurate description of the mode
- Steering is lighter in comfort and sport. Might be a con for some but it is much easier to drive day to day.
- Transmission is less herky jerky and improved shift points
- Throttle is more linear
- Less ping ponging in the lane in the self driving

edit: I also want to add I am on the conti's and the update makes them more tolerable

Has anyone checked to see if the delay we had when you floor it from a stop (with no brake boost or launch control) is gone? I haven't gotten the opportunity to try it on mine post update.

I told the dealer that my car pulls very hard when I pass a specific turning lane near my house. I was told by a bmw rep that there is a new istep update to address it.

They then did it.
Can you elaborate? I want to make sure I have my story straight when I request the update
