From what I have read the 7k model is the sweet spot if you have cars and trucks/SUVs. But then you also need adapters which aren't cheap.

I had debated getting this for sometime and figured I could just store it under my X3M when parked in the garage (limited *******.

But I'm really struggling to see how this will save me much time vs. getting it up on jack stands. By the time I pull it out, line it up, hook up the compressor I feel like I would already have it in the air with my jack/stands.
Does it really save much time?

My dream is to one day have a garage large enough with an actual lift. I'll probably be too old to have energy to work on the cars though....

Yeah Time savings aren't much unless you leave it hooked up and pushed out of the way. I will tell you from a safety perspective vs jackstands, it is absolutely way safer when properly lowered on the stopping points. I don't have the extenders and have not had any issues lifting any trucks or cars, you just have to center it appropriately. I do miss my 10k Mohawk 2 post lift but it's not an option in this garage so the Quick Jacks will have to do. BTW starting today they are on sale at Costco again which is where I got mine.

I did this. I use the Bl-5000XLT for my G82 and plan to use the same setup for my X3M. I purchased two 75" lengths of 1x3 steel square tubing that extends out to the pads. They aren't light but don't flex at all under the weight of the car. Will probably weld bar under the ends to lock into the wells of the QJ.

Thanks. I've never felt unsafe with my jack stands but I can see how this would be more stable. I think all of my work has been tire changes though - for future oil changes I may just use ramps.

My garage is too small to work on my cars so I have to put them in the driveway. Lugging the QJ seemed to just add to the work for me.

Home Depot also runs sales on these for non-Costco members.

I made custom extensions for my quickJack. Using 4x4 pressure treated posts. Sold the car so I don’t need them. They work and fit perfect. If anyone is interested, come to grab them for free from Staten Island NY 10306.

@p3ns did you take any pics of the extensions you made? Have an X3MC, an E46, and an F31…was researching which quick Jack would be best, and came across this post.

I was quoted $140 locally for 2 - 4" x 2" x 72" 1/8" thickness steel rectangle tube. That should be able to handle the X3M and the wifes 40i.

lawnmower351 has a cheaper and arguably better solution.
