You can do either / or. You can turn off OPF with map options. Simple click of a button.

Who knows ?
My car as already a ECU Maps ( OPF OFF + V-MAX ) . My stock map I believe ( when you install a new map ) has been cancelled from my car .
To go back to stock map I must contact the company who made the ECU map and ask them to restore my DME to stock ? Correct ?
After that I can play with Bootmod3 ?
The contact service bootmod3 told me that the software ID’s on my DME do not change and they can restore the maps with stock .
It’s not really clear for me , when I made the first maps the ID’s on my DME was changed or still always the same ?
Who is the answer ?

Go Buy Bootmod3. Read ecu (does not matter what map is on your ecu) you will get original file from Bootmod3 server so you can put back to stock when you want. Then flash stage 1 bootmod3. easy.

You will lose the map that is on the car currently

Garage List
2019 BMW M2C  [0.00]
Considering pulling the trigger (my DME SW is old enough ). So there are CS, CS+ and Stage 1 (91 and 93) tunes that I have seen. It's my understanding none of those need any upgrades beyond the tune, correct?
Is there any information anywhere that shows those tunes in relation to each other (curves, numbers, etc.)?
I won't even ask the crank hub question as the answer truly is "there's a non-zero chance it'll happen" but beyond that, who knows (I'm 6MT which might lower my chances a small amount). TIA!

If I read the ECU , I read the current software that is not the stock .
I have just bought Bootmod3 , tomorrow I will try to save my current maps . I'm not interested in new maps , my current map are ok and works very well .

Unfortunately to restore the DME I don't have other solution . The only way is come back to the company who have made and installed the map and do it every time I need to go to the dealer is to' much.

My car is running perfectly OPF off + V-Max . The only problem ( is not a real problem ) is to louse a day for reload the stock map when you need to do a BMW service or recall .
Drive to the installer , wait for the stock map , drive to BMW wait for the service and come back to the installer for the map . ......

If with Bootmod3 I can do everything by my self it will be better .

Regarding Dähler or some other tuners from CH or DE I will not spend my money for something same at the 90% less. The are crazy

No. It will be a virtual read. File off Bootmod3 servers. System will download same HW and SW numbers it wont actually read your ecu file only its info

If can load the stock map , and load the bootmod3 map , I don't understand why I can't read and save my current maps ? The maps are on my DME .

Yes but most of these newer ecus are virtual read only. Some you can remove open up connect directly with the PCB to read the file on the DME.

You would need to ask BM3 if they plan to implement reading the through OBD and not just virtual read

Around £450. But for me it was not so much the map as the ability to tune my own car. It comes with Map editing software.

Running the map for a while it changes the car. I am used to powerful cars and found stock a bit down on power and a touch boring ( i am sure I will get flamed for that statement). Deffo not the case now its mapped. Big difference.

You are right , I read the ECU , but unfortunately I can't modify or flash it again .
The only way is To ask the turner to send me the ECU file and send it to bootmaster3 asking to upload in their cloud , but I'm sure that my turner will don'T accept .

Is not to me clear at all, how my stock map can be load again on my car . As we know BMW relaised two update / recall , but because COVID_19 all the dealer all shut .
If I flash the stock map In to the car with the stock map I found in bootmod3, I will get the updated map with the two recall ?

Not sure. My car had update in late November and I was able to flash my ecu the BM3 a couple of weeks ago. So either the X3M is not affected with update or my dealer was lazy and never did software update. Probably the latter. Either way I am happy.

So you have read your ecu but cant flash it with the stock BM3 file you now have in "my maps"?

No Biesse unfortunately don't collaborate with bm3 . I just connected the car to the bootmod3 , get a full read DME .
The bootmod3 have read the maps Biesse but as you can see from the screenshots I can't use it .

So As you told me before bootmod3 can read virtually but you can't work or use it . The only way is to have from the Turner the file ( impossible they don't agree ) , send it to them and ask to upload in your area .

Yeah I am really puzzled now. Mine was VR as i got ecu id without even putting the dash on fully (one click on start button, no dash lights). Read the ID in about 2 seconds.

Need to do more playing when i get home.

If you have the full read I wonder why you cant write it? Strange. Usually if you can read you can write.
