How Much Longer until Delivery?
I have been stuck at the "Production Begins" screen for the past two weeks. My SA had initially told me that the X3 would be delivered by the end of May. Is this still possible? Just trying to get a feel for the timeframe as my current lease also ends at the end of May.

Yes, very possible! Production Begins simply means you are entering the system and they are lining up all the correct parts for your build. Once you actually start production it takes a day or so and then you move to Awaiting Carrier assignment or something like that. End of May very doable.

Log into MyBMW and run the "Inspect" process and you'll see the day it'll be done. Look at the week 18 thread and go back 3 or 4 pages. You'll find a good how to. Mine is still showing "Production Begins" and I believe it will be DONE on Wednesday.

I posted this in a thread called the Unofficial Status 150 thread. I'll post here to help you out. You can also look for a thread that includes the words production week 18, there is a lot of info in there too.
Copied over: Once you are 150 you should have your vin and then you should be able to look "behind the scenes" to find your current production date. You do this by logging into mygarage and clicking F12 on your keyboard, then hit reload/refresh the page. I had trouble with the next step on Chrome but was able to figure it out on Firefox with some help from another member. I'll link to another post that has screenshots. You will want to select Network, XHR. And then you will click through any file name that starts with "forward?GroupId…" Once you click on one make sure Response is selected on the right screen that shows. Scroll through what you see in Response. You are looking for the one that includes "prodDate". That date, from my experience is the day your vehicle should be finished. Today is that day for me. I progressed from Production begins to Entering Assembly yesterday (May 11) and as of writing this post I've progressed to Quality Check with no signs of slowing. Hang in there! Your day is coming. https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...808&page=4 See page 4 in the link above.

r0gue is totally correct. And is actually the one that helped me to find my production date in Firefox by giving me pointers in the week 18 thread!

This must be the most asked question in this forum. I wish BMW would change "Production Begins" to something else that does not cause confusion.
Like "We are strongly considering building your order at a later date, could be 2-3 weeks from now" or "Locking down parts". |

Not only is this the MOST asked forum question...it's a question that CAN'T be answered by forum members except anecdotally. One persons experience days or months ago doesn't necessarily mean anything for future orders. The supply chain and manufacturers production timetables are ever changing.
Everyone awaiting their cars certainly have the "right" to ask such questions but this Forum is probably not the place to receive an accurate answer. I suggest you ask BMW, your dealer or just keep an eye on the BMW production site.....I'm sure BMW wants to get your car to you ASAP....after all, nobody in the chain makes any $$$ until you get your car delivered and PAY THEM. |

Sometimes the production date changes by a few days. For me, it actually became an earlier date. But it could move the other way as well. The phone line seemed most accurate for this date. Since your production date is showing 05/16, it should have moved status yesterday probably. It could move Monday, but I suspect the production date is slightly delayed now. |

Why they can't put the information they have access to on our website I will never understand. Sure would save a bunch of phone calls and questions.

True. But once you have seen Tesla's ordering system BMW's seems positively futuristic.
When BMW first launched the tracking system, they would actually record a short video of your vehicle being assembled and painted in the line and that would be available for download. Sadly they removed that feature. |

Excellent, so delayed by a couple of days at most. Now wait for status to change multiple time in the next 2 days.
