Unlocked/Tuned ECU and Dealer Service?

Howdy all. For those with unlocked and tuned ECUs, what do you do for dealer service? Like, for stuff unrelated to the drivetrain. For instance a blown speaker or something?

When the dealer connects to the OBDII port, is there anything I or they can do to prevent communication to the ECUs so they don’t get locked up? Other than ask real nice maybe. Haha.

Btw, the x4m isn’t tuned, but the X5M is and has two ECUs cause that’s what the V8s do I guess. And I already locked them out once already. Trying to no f*ck myself over sgain.

They make OBD lockdown kits that physically covers the port and locks so nothing can be connected. Don't be surprised if a dealer rejects a service though seeing that. On the flip side, blocking signal is just as suspicious so either one will be a gamble.

I’m not worries about a warranty issue being rejected. Oh well. Most techs at the dealer are trash anyways. Not even real mechanics.
