2019 X3 M40i fuel economy

I test drove one of these back at introduction and again today. Still surprised by the engine response and power, the audible feedback (through the speakers?), the general suspension and ride quality, and surprisingly, the shifting of the 8 speed automatic transmission.

Anyone willing to share real world fuel economy? I'd be DD'ing with mixed highway/local roads, and I currently see 21 mpg in my 2013 128i, 6 speed manual, with the N52 engine (and 3 stage manifold).

Thanks!

We discussed this in designated x3 forum. But quickly (if youre willing to make conversions):
11.4 from factory (30.000km)
Lowest 8 (regional roads at 70-90 kmh)
SportPlus mode and short drives 14
Short city drives (20km a day) with lots of traffic (1hr to cross 10km) 12,5.

You are def in the wrong place, this is specific to the S58 M's.

But on your topic, you should really go try out the LCI M40's...they added a mild hybrid and it had alot of low end power as well as improved fuel economy. Friend of mine gets 30+ mpg all the time.... it's pretty wild.

On my X3 M40i I’m getting 22 mpg in a lot of short trips and local driving. I’ve gotten 34 mpg on the highway.

Sorry folks, got confused by the name game. X3 M vs X3 M40i. Thank you for information, though. Not sure I have any need for the extra HP in the LCI version of the M40i, though, as the initial variant had me over 90 mph without feeling it!
