Is there a way to not have the mirrors fold every single time I lock the car
On my m2 I used to have to hold the comfort access a few seconds and then the mirrors will fold I would prefer to have it that way cuz there is times when I would prefer for them not to fold .


Another thing making it louder opinions or options that don’t cost an arm and a leg lol maybe a dinan x pipe
I want to do catless but maybe way down the line. I did find a comp muffler for sale for honestly cheap is that a good upgrade ?

So there are some g80 or g82 or x3 basioanythubg with s58 on up shifts
There are some cars that have a burble type of sound on up shifts and then others that have like xhp and is like instant pop
But then I see some where there is like a ever so slightly pause between shifts

Is that like a xhp flash for the trans or is that a thing on the newer s58 models or ?
Cuz man I kinda like how that sounds big time ngl

Weird, I didn't need to do anything special in Bimmercode for folding mirrors. There is an option in the menu for it. I'll see if I can pop out to the car later and grab a pic of which menu it's in.

Congrats on your new beast! The s58 on the x3m is characterful depending on what revs you shift at, what gear you are in and what speed you are doing even without a xhp tune. I also find each gear setting 1- 3 'shift speed' will have its own sound so play around and see which one suits.

I have the competition pre-Lci and this is what I have found. Here is a short clip of me driving on a country road. The car has a midpipe only.

Yes, but then that will fold them every time you lock the doors.

OP asked about only folding them when you want by holding lock on the fob or on the door handle.

Yeah watching that video my x3M basically sounds like that pretty much
But when ever I see other videos every now and then I’ll see a video of a s58 shifting like the video i posted and is like oh wow that sounds really cool so I was like I wonder if that’s a xhp flash and that’s why is sound so different 😮‍💨😮‍💨

no I don’t have a problem with mirrors folding
They fold every time I lock my doors

I would want it to fold up if I hold the lock button 3 seconds or longer and then they fold

That’s how I used to have it on my m2 that way they are not folding every single time I lock the car basically they will only fold if I specifically want them to fold

“Body Domain Controller” BDC_BODY2 control unit

You'll need to enable the convenient opening/closing options, fold mirrors with convenient closing, and unfold mirrors with convenient opening.

I had it that way on my 340i, I didn't get a chance to try it on the X3M yet.

Yes definitely could be a flash. Also the LCI 2022 onwards, do have a different sound on upshift.

Ahhh ok makes sense
It might be a 2022 and up lci update they maybe did because it definitely does sound different on those up shifts

With my m2 I didn’t care shit was full FBO and under warranty 😅
