Pretty much stock with m plus pack, acoustic glass and galvanised embellishments inside. 21" alloys in Glacier Silver.
Congrats on the new car! Definitely a huge difference in terms of refinement and smoothness, as the 2l diesel is a bit rough and the 3l petrol and diesels are superior in every way.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you chose the m40d? Did the whole diesel gate crap put you off?

While I love the m40i, I felt that the 500nm did not give the responsive punch like the 30d (620nm), which I then bought. Had BMW communicated that a m40d was in the pipeline to be released later that year, I would have taken the 40d immediately. I can't begin to imagine how crazy the 680nm in the 40d pulls!
That's exactly why I went for the 40d and of course the better overall mpg. Running in my car so only experienced the phenomenal torque in the test car about three months back! Unless something changes technologically or regulatory (can't see that happening) unfortunately this may be my last diesel. Shame as the 40d is far smoother (and more powerful) than my previous 535d.

Yeah the diesel gate thing was a bit of a factor as well as the amount I can claim for mileage from work. 14p p/m in the diesel and 24p p/m in the petrol. I must admit the quick diesel might have worked better for me.

No, PB is much much easier than black!

Silver is the easiest though.

The 680nm does seem crazy, until you try it with a tuning box and 780nm!!

I have driven the G01 30d but had no idea that the 40d develops an additional 140NM.

Surprisingly some journalists even prefer the effortless and creamy 840d to the M850i. Less engine noise could also be a bonus depending on who you are.

40d only produces 60nm more than 30d

Don’t doubt a light metallic is easy, had a blue Q5 a few years back that was similar in colour to PB, but maybe because it wasn’t ceramic coated whereas my CB is. Wouldn’t change it, love it 😊

Does the M40d still use the ZF 8HP50 transmission like the M40i, or something with a higher torque rating like the 8HP75?

Very nice mate. That is what I love about the colour, two colours for the price of one
