New car day. Over the moon with it. What a machine. Coming from a g31 5 series touring 2.0d it's just a massive difference. Drove 15 miles back from the dealer and just took it so easy. Love it.
Pretty much stock with m plus pack, acoustic glass and galvanised embellishments inside. 21" alloys in Glacier Silver.

I've had my blue one with 21's for all of 6 days ... now up to 567 miles ... getting there slowly but it's great.

Think it's just the photo and where the sun is. It's the same grey as was on my 5 series I think.

Silver or blue is much nicer and easier to look after than black.

Silver I get is easier, but the phytonic blue likely to be the same as black. I have Carbon Black, ceramic coating the way forward, but yes, a PITA to keep clean, but boy does it look good when it is.

Gorgeous. Silver is by far my favorite color on the X3. It shows off the lines very well and is a rare sight.

Congrats on the new car! Definitely a huge difference in terms of refinement and smoothness, as the 2l diesel is a bit rough and the 3l petrol and diesels are superior in every way.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you chose the m40d? Did the whole diesel gate crap put you off?

While I love the m40i, I felt that the 500nm did not give the responsive punch like the 30d (620nm), which I then bought. Had BMW communicated that a m40d was in the pipeline to be released later that year, I would have taken the 40d immediately. I can't begin to imagine how crazy the 680nm in the 40d pulls!

I have my carbon black booked in for paint correction and ceramic coating early Aug. Have you found any staining on the coating from rain etc. I have read that the ceramic coating can mark if water is left on it and its most visible on dark or black cars.
