Make sure to do all the prying round the back, don't be tempted to pry them from the front at all as they're easy to damage that way. Good thing is they appear to be made of some sort of metal so the tabs don't break easily. |

They quite easy to remove, just use a plastic pry tool round the edges of it and it will come out. First one took me about 15 mins, second one around 5 mins. |

The top edge is easiest to release first, then round the side towards the middle of the car.
The matte black bit that goes from the grille to the bottom of the bumper needs to be released, or at least partially released to unclip the last grille clip. Then when you refit the grille leave that matte bit until last. And remember there’s a cable going to the parking sensor that needs to be disconnected! |

Wireless Charger
I saw the posts for installing a wireless charger and I thought I'd see if I could make one that I'd be happy with. My wife and I put our heads together with things we had around the house and this is what we came up with. You can see by the picture that I like symmetry so this was a good solution for me. Total cost was about $20.
Here are the parts Wireless charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Car mount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 additional parts: small pvc pipe, black paint and krazy glue. All did was glue the wireless charger to one end of the pvc pipe and the vent mount glued to the other end (before gluing first put it in the pipe and make sure the cover on the bmw can close, if it doesnt you may have to cut the pipe down a bit). I then took the magnetic rectangle that comes with the mount (that would attach to the back of the phone) and stuck it on the bottom of the compartment. Works perfectly! This solution not be for everyone, but as I'm not really mechanical, I like how it turned out Last edited by kenx3; 06-25-2019 at 02:18 PM.. Reason: picture |

First 3 Mods Done
I got the Weathertech mats in all around, put on the M grill colors, and replaced the grab handle with a sunglasses case. Next up is fishing the Escort detector cord from the fuse box to the driver's side. Just waiting on panel tools.

Haha Well, I just did my move from LA to Las Vegas and needed something to carry my bike to free up cargo space. Worked great and no marks on the car at all after me driving at 80 to 90 mph
Having said that, I was going to return it after the trip, but it's the only way I can carry a Mountainbike properly. Throwing it back in the X3 after a ride...yikes with all the dirt. I wanted to install a Stealth Hitch..but it's over $1,000 plus whatever carrier you choose.

Leased this 2019 Graphite Metallic X3 a few weeks ago for my wife. Haven't had a chance to snap some pictures. Put weathertech mats in the front and back seats. Got LLumar Formula 1 Pinnacle 35% tint on the front windows and 15% on the 2 massive sunroof panels.
I've been over on the F30 forum for a while; now I have 2 sections to keep up on...

South African's will get this. Public transport vehicles are prohibited from travelling above 100km/h and have display a yellow speed sign at the rear of their vehicle. I thought I'd be funny and put my vehicles limit (technically its 250km/h, but I must have been on a slight downhill because I got it to 260km/h)
The personalised number (easy to figure it out) I've had ever since my first X5 10 years ago. |
