Looks good. I've been contemplating doing the beta for the simple fact of using the updated CarPlay. I'll probably wait another release or two for the initial bugs to start getting worked out first.

Same question here; is fullscreen CarPlay available retroactively in the X3? I thought that was only possible with special coding or with iDrive 7.

On the 2019 having Nav means you also have carplay

CarPlay supports this but BMW needs to adopt it, and wont for iDrive 6. IDrive6 is dead to BMW at this point.

Is OP showing the re-arranged layout on a non-standard iDrive 6, that is one whose FSC has been modified to tell iDrive the screen size is different from factory? Or do these pix show a new layout users who have not modded iDrive 6 can view?

Instead of bragging that he has access to the iOS 13 developer beta, I wish OP would have been specific about what we are seeing.

As OP said earlier, he's running a non-standard iDrive 6 (ebay "coded for full screen"). That's the reason for the widescreen. Otherwise, it's the usual narrow screen for non-modded iDrive 6.

The layout is different because iOS 13 has a slightly different layout, and because he's customized it (you can move around the icons in carplay -- including iOS 12).

When iOS 13 launches around Sept/Oct, standard iDrive 6 users will get the narrow screen layout, which will be slightly different than what we have now. For example, see this thread for a narrow screen showing the new dual app display feature.

I just found out my wife's '19 X5 has full screen CarPlay enabled from the factory. It's awesome seeing waze across the big screen

Running the public beta version of iOS 13 on my iPhone and the new version of CarPlay is definitely nice. Really does show how badly full screen is needed though.
