Most think so. With each new release, new streets, additional POI's, and additional 3D Maps are added, and improvements to the routing algorithm are made.

If you have installed the latest 2017(specifically 2017-2) map update, I want to check the availability of a certain address/area before I get the update since I'm in a relatively new(2yrs) housing development.

PM me if you can help. (~5mins = Look up an address in your iDrive & take a picture)

UPDATE: Thanks to the fellow board member. 2017-2 has what I need.

Recently purchased a 2013 X3 from a BMW dealership. Came across this post and turns out my SAV still has the 2013 maps / data.

Possible for me to the map to the latest version?

Could you send me the updated versions of all the programs needed to update the map? I recently bought a 2014 x3 used, so I assume I can update right? I'll look for instructions in this thread.

Shawn,

I have a 2017 X3 (build date summer of 2016) and it doesn't appear maps have ever been updated OTA. It is NBT EVO and auto map update subscription is active on BMW connected. Installed version is 2016-2 north America evo. Do you know if there is a more recent version for NBT EVO north america? Can't find anything in the forums. Thank you sir.

North America EVO 2017-1 is latest release.

Just got a 2013 X3 with NBT pro nav and the maps have never been updated (Road Map EUROPE Next 2013-2). Logged onto connected drive and it wants £70 for a 2 year subscription. You guys, particularly Shawn, seem a load more clued up on the most sensible way to update, any tips?

I see sites selling their own one off updates for £40 but then I'd be more inclined to go with the safety of BMW and 2 years of updates. Apologies if this question has been posted a million times!!
