There are two doors. The one in the glove box liner, and the one on the actual filter holder. The one in the glove box is easy to find. But I cannot find that filter box in the parts diagram. But type the last 7 digits of your VIN in the parts catalog at RealOEM.com and look yourself. I did not think our cars had filters there in addition to the cabin air filters under the hood.

My 2011 X3 does have the filters accessed through the glove box. They are called recirculating air filters or cabin air filters. BMW doesn't make it clear in their diagrams. As for the door that covers them, I think it might be part of the air conditioner housing itself? So it would not be available as a separate part if that is true.

I plugged your VIN into RealOEM.com. That did not help. I cannot find in any diagram where that whole filter assembly is shown. So the poster above may be correct - it's part of the whole AC housing and not a separate part. You need to go ask a dealer.

or just cover where the missing door should be with duct tape. I doubt there would be any problem if you did that.

Yes, we understand what piece you need. I'm not confused about the part, I'm just telling it does not appear to be part you can buy. The parts diagrams on RealOEM are the same ones the dealers use. They are very complete. Feel free to look yourself and prove me wrong - but you will not find it.

You're not bothering me, I was just trying to explain. I'll take your word for it that the door is part of that assembly, but are saying you have to buy the entire blower motor housing assembly? That is what I was saying - you can't buy just the door. But if the door is part of that, then in the US it costs only about $100 dollars.
