I believe It can be done- see attached PDF's, there are several; you need to put them in order of disassembly by noting the comment on each: "Necessary Preliminary Work"
Good luck/Bill

If you remove the air box and disconnect charge pipe from throttle body you can then remove the nuts and bolt that secure intake and pull intake far enough from head to get your hand down to the sensor with a fair amount of maneuverability. So you still need to unbolt the intake but it can stay in the car and skip unplugging the connections from the DME. Also you need to disconnect the plug from the rail sensor. Just the way I did it, ymmv.

Ok thanks for the info guys, i really don't want to get into removing the intake manifold... Was hoping there would be a workaround somehow.

My temp gauge does not work, everything else is fine, heater, air con, engine is not overheating, no warning lights are showing. Been this way for a year so not in a rush to fix this, don't want to pay dealer, was hoping it would be easier to replace sensor

Removing the intake is only slightly more difficult than the air filter housing, go for it. You’ll have a better understanding of what’s going on down there afterwards. Hardest part is holding the cables out of the way towards the back of it for reinstalling.
