Windshield wiper skipping problem

I have a F25 and F30 both 2018 year model. I have problems with the windshield wiper skipping for both cars under the same circumstances. I super cleaned the windshield with strong APC and dishwash detergent and glass cleaner, changed new wipers, clayed the windshield. When I'm driving in the rain, the wiper will eventually skip, specially during moderate and heavy rain. I don't have rainx on my windshield. I've tried almost every trick I can find online but nothing solves it.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Also, there are smear marks on the windshield which can be seen when it is wet. Any idea to get rid of it?

It still does not mean you have got rid of all the traffic grease. I had the same problem recently and also used white vinegar and then used strong antifreeze screen wash mixture and kept at it. Eventually it worked. It was the rear window on the F25 that was really bad.

I had the same problem. A small amount of brake kleen (the red can) on a wet paper towel removed the residue.

Windshield wiper skipping problem

You're right Peter, I applied white vinegar on the windshield already, let's see if it solves the skipping problem.

Big Kid, do you mean using brake cleaner?

Yes, on a wet paper towel (this diluted the brake clean)

Yeah, that and various other things like carb cleaners are xylene or toluene, very similar to each other. They are pretty harsh on plastics & rubbers but some dilution like that will definitely help and it'll sure do a job cleaning anything else on there.

It goes without saying, be careful not to get it on any other part of the car other than the glass.
