bodyshop or mobile repair?

Hi,

Scratches on the right side of my X3 across 3 panels. See photos attached.

Independent bodyshop is quoting £650 to repair and respray (oven baked).

Mobile repair guy is quoting £380.

Both of these shops have very good reviews online. Car is only 2 years old and i plan to keep it for a while. I have cosmetic insurance which will pay £300 towards the repair. Can this damage be repaired well by a mobile guy? or is a bodyshop repair required?

Thanks

I would only use a BMW Certified Body Shop.

That looks like paint transfer and it may all come off. Go get some lacquer thinner from the store and put a dab of it on a microfiber cloth. Rub it a little bit. I bet most if not all of that comes off. Then just do a little bit of polish. Lacquer thinner will not hurt your paint

I use this for any scratches that I have and it does a very good job on light not deep scratches. You should try it

Certainly try the detail type approach first, but there is no way some portion of that did not go through your paint.

If you can't get it off with the detail approach, I would not suggest a mobile guy. A quality job will require all three panels being painted in a controlled environment (ie: paint shop). You will want it done right as will the person you sell it to down the road.

Body shop, they look like they are deep past the paint.
