Need new tires - AGAIN

Morning! I need to replace the tires on my 2018 X3 again! I had to replace the first set at 22,000 miles, and had the dealer put the same tires on because they were on a terrific sale. Now I find myself needing them again at another 23,000 miles. The front tires are much worse than the rear. I live in NY so I need a good all-weather tire that hopefully will laster longer than this tire. Is that a normal amount of miles for a run-flat? I'd say 95% of my driving is local country roads. Help please - thank you!

1) what brand and model of tire?
2) Are your tires staggered?

- If those are staggered performance run-flats, then you are doing ok.

- If they have a "star" on them, they are oem specific and may have a softer compound (per BMW spec) than the retail version of the same tire- which while having more grip in certain scenarios, would wear faster than the retail (non BMW-specific) version of the same tire.

If your fronts are worn worse than the rears, I would have an alignment done. It's also helpful to know if the fronts were worn evenly or not. - could be toe (sp?), camber, or tire pressure.

It could also just be the way that you drive. If you are easy on acceleration, but brake heavy through corners, that could wear the front more.

Sounds about right. I like the Pirellis.

“terrific sale” isn’t always the most cost effective. YMMV…literally - CS

1. what tires are you using?
2. how often do you check your alignment?

If not the Michelins , I use CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS Ultra High Performance All-Season, its non runflat though so I keep a tire plug kit in the car.

Being in the Metro NYC area they are great all year round and good in the snow, and I've gotten 40k plus miles out of them from previous cars. Having a staggered set now on my 22 x3, the only thing I'm not sure about wear, is not being able to fully rotate them from front to back and the front will run down faster than the rears.
