Have been meaning to post that stratstone link, a mate sent to me the other day. Crazy deals. Really looking to shift some stock before year end.

Not for me. My M40i was £52k with the options, down to £43k, and monthlies under £500. Was with 2.5k deposit admittedly.

Those deals are unbelievable.
Presumably it's a base spec X3M Comp, but they still come very well optioned. |

Stratstone..big company. Got my Harley Davidson m/c bike from Stratstone Harley Davidson Birmingham, who were a pleasure to deal with and their customer care is second to none.

Its a really interesting conundrum.
Effective monthly cost is now the same for the M40i as the X3M. How long that lasts is another story.. But question is...what would you go for now there isn't such a big gulf between the two? Various online reviews re the ride put me off, but the extra 150hp and more aggressive looks are incredibly tempting! |

I would imagine the insurance is a fair bit steeper and don't forget the servicing is in a different league money wise !!
Fuel economy is bound to take a hit when you start revving it a lot - a lot less torque low down it seems compared to an M40i |

It's tempting but I have 2 concerns. The first being the harsh ride, especially as I'm in London. The second is if I'm stepping up to this class of car, I'd consider the Alfa Romeo Stevlio Q over the X3M as the running costs / insurance will be similar but I'm sure is better driving experience overall.
The X3M40i is definitely the sweet spot. I also like that it's understated so does not attract unwanted attention...an issue I've always had with previous cars. More so as Mrs V also drives the car. |

"Contract mileage of 8,000 per annum and an excess mileage charge of 23.16p per mile"
So if you average 15k miles per year add another £13/month on top. Still seems like a sweet deal though! |

It's still an absolute bargain for someone doing low mileage, though. |

I did a deal with Stratstone on one of these today. The deal is epic but only on stock cars so no-one is paying £549 / £549 as all of the cars have some extras.
Pretty sure the total discount that I got was around £22k Not sure why anyone would request a PCP on the actual mileage they do unless you plan to hand the car back at the end?

Looks OK unless you want to keep it at the end - they claw back the 'Dealer Contribution' in the final balloon payment of over £35,600. It won't be worth that at 4 years old so they know people will have to hand it back.
OTR price of £77,190 but total cost if you keep it after 48 months is just under £82,500 so you have to look at it as a 48 month rental agreement

What was the actual breakdown of dealer contribution and BMW contribution? We want to know how much of each so we can work out the VT point? |

Over 4 years excess mileage at 7000 a year is over £6500 or £135 a month, I looked at this and to be honest I didn’t like it and got the M40d
