Just a note that only the adapter and Bimmercode are required to apply standard, packaged, codes. Not both programs.

Yes, E-sys is more flexible and ‘better’, but most users won’t need that amount of capability.

I spent a whole weekend and more setting up E-sys, it was a nightmare. Bimmercode, and Carly I assume, took 5 mins to achieve what I wanted.

As always, ymmv

Correct. Second program is just needed if you want to read and clear errors. You are going to want if coding modules like ACSM or those that affect drivetrain.

Interesting that only air-circulation is option when that is always set to active. But, I assume you can use expert mode and check OFF_MEMORY.

FZD is good for changing alarm tones and disabling OBDII alarm.

Hmmm, so the "M" display animation didn't work very well - sometimes it fails to play when starting up, other times it just plays the regular Connected Drive 2. Went back to the default one for now.

It only displays when car fully sleeps and then time is minimized between reaching car, unlocking, and starting. Though, I have never seen it switch between animations without coding first.

You can set default driving mode to one of the individual settings.

It's odd - it played only once for me. Now that I went back to ConnectedDrive, it's working smoothly again.

Agreed. It should not make a difference which animation is selected. Mine works all the time on multiple vehicles as long as I follow guidelines.

Enhanced bluetooth

Wondering if there have been any updates to the app? I'm looking to enable enhanced bluetooth on my G01 X3.

You could do it the hard way with app. VO coding still only possible with E-sys.

There was an update to the app a few days ago, but nothing for our vehicles. I have some logs to send to the developer when I get around to it.

For those who can't wait, Almaretto can now code your car via VPN. You still need to purchase the cable, but he can use e-sys to remotely code your car now (which previously was not possible - you had to have E-sys and the launcher app installed locally). Now you don't have to worry about installing E-sys or the launcher software, and it's a far more reliable method to code vs. using the IOS apps available.

It requires HU_NBT2 Pro Nav and Nov '16 or newer software. Then, it can be provisioned through Connecteddrive for $300 or less through third party FSC's.

Can you provision it without ConnectedDrive using an FSC on the G01?

I'm pretty ignorant to what this means. Is this codeable in the 2018 X3?

It means it requires coding plus license. Coding alone will not activate.

BMW only unlocks through provisioning, but you can try.

Yes, software is already loaded. You just have to load FSC and tell vehicle to look for software through coding.
