hey! stop the flame! no reason for that. there were a few post with real suggestions, which OP totally ignored. There are three reasons for that: 1. he doesn't want to solve his problem 2. he can't read {which is not true since he replied to some posts) 3. he is a troll.
Seeing other threads from him, he doesn't look like a troll. Can't understand, why he doesn't want to try the suggested Sport individual.

Complaints about pops and crackles remind me of when I had the BMW i8 for a few days. Sport Mode is fun and efficient for recharging the battery. However I hated that in Sport mode, the speakers blasted fake and loud noises into the cabin.
It was the complete opposite of the smoothness and serenity you expect of blistering power delivery in a hybrid/EV car. Hopefully BMW will in the future offer the option to switch off "enhanced noises".

I drive my M40i around the Bluegrass state of Kentucky often, a state known for a little horse race called Kentucky Derby and where you can find many horse farms. I also have a few friends there who own horses. I usually keep my M40i in Comfort mode, or Individual Sport but set the Engine in Comfort mode to quiet the exhaust. As far as I know my M40i has never scared anything (horses, cows included) or anyone (grandmas or little kids).
If many Porsche (or AMG, RS or what have you) owners are sensible and caring enough to set their lovely sport cars in a quiet driving mode when driving around horses, I'm sure smart and caring BMW owners will choose to do the same. |

May have been said somewhere in the thread but here goes anyway. Popping is because of over fuelling to the engine and that fuel being burnt/exploded on overrun, only real way to get over this is put a quiet exhaust on or de-tune your car so it only gets the fuel it needs.
Other option is to drive round in Eco Pro mode all the time |
