Correct. Vast majority of that time is removing the bracing to get access to the DME. Actual removal and reinstall of the DME is quick. Honestly could probably be done in less than 5 minutes if the brace wasnt there.

I agree, it will be incredibly easy to take out. Just make sure you all remove your battery cable before you do it!

DME needs to be removed and sent in for a bench flash.
And by sent in you mean shipped to Dinan in Alabama, right?

Wait - can you just remove the DME and ship it to Dinan and have them perform the updgrade? Avoiding a trip to a shop/dealer?

Or is this in addition to whatever update the dealer/shop has to install?

No need to go to a dealer if you dont want to. You can deal with us direct if you are comfortable doing the work, etc. Both processes are listed on the product page under the "DME UNLOCK & FLASH NOTICE / HOW TO PURCHASE" section.

Good to know - thanks. That is a MUCH more attractive option than paying the dealer to mess up my car!

Going to be holding off for now. Getting a weird whining noise at cold start (likely just a pulley) and also the low oil check cam on today and we have only put 400 miles on it in a month. Checked the oil level and it is correct. Not sure what's going on but before I drop another $1400 on it on top of the tires, full front PPF and also other miscellaneous stuff for $4500 already, I'm getting it checked out!

So, with your e85 tune, you are suggesting just straight pump e85, not a blend. The fuel system can support this high E blend?

Would love and welcome the opportunity for a warranty assured tune on a 2022 car when it arrives.

Plenty over here would sign up.

Perhaps in the future. It's one of many things on the radar for investigation of potential additional features/options across the board.

Maybe a dumb question- but are the power gains the same for a non-comp X3M?

End power would be the same whether it be comp or not. Slightly larger gains given slightly lower baseline on the non- comp but end result is essentially the same.

Ultimately coes down to liability. We can't gaurantee that folks wont run 91 octane (or below) on the 93 octane map and given enough time cause a break down to the motor as a result. We would then be liable for repair even though it was run out of intended specification with no way to prove otherwise. Have to accomodate the lowest common denominator essentially.

Doesn't that livability still remain for you guys with the 91? If someone uses 87 or 89 octane if we are considering worse case scenarios.

This would be an easy buy for me if it was supporting the 93 octane tune.

Makes sense. What I don't understand is the DINAN name itself. Steve the sold the company & is now with CARBAHN Autoworks. So did the software engineers that use to work for him still working for DINAN under the new owner(s)... ?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what is what & what was in this regard. Hope you can provide some clarity here as I like this software for the 2020 DME.
