Nice.

What makes you decide with white indicator instead of red indicator?

I am going to install the red indicator one today and waiting for AutoTecknic to have the prototype steering wheel trim soon.
tbh, didn't really know there were different colors but I prefer the white on my ride due to my already "reddish" interior

You can always ceramic coat over the PPF as well.

In fact now they have ceramic coating that is formulated for PPF and keeps the self healing characteristics of the film.

Best part is on a black car you'll be free from spiderwebbing or swirls marks.

But once you ceramic coat the paint you can't really do PPF as it has a hard time sticking and the ceramic would have to be removed. But looks great

Anyway, is the performance effected at all when spacers are used? Ride quality? Other...?

Wheel spacers were originally designed to allow for fitment of different width wheels onto the same hub. By utilizing a wheel with a different depth to the barrel, this can allow a wider wheel to fit under the fender, and when fitting a wider wheel, a wider tire is able to be fitted as well. The primary idea of using a spacer is that it allows one to retain as much of the same wheel and tire geometry as possible while increasing fire contact patch.

With BMWs it is important to use hub centric spacers, and typically most people avoid spacers larger than 20mm as this typically requires longer wheel lugs or wheel studs.

If utilizing spacers for racing wheels, Switching to wheel studs are quite common. Utilizing very wide spacers with the original lug bolts can cause additional stress on the hubs.

While originally designed for *performance* benefits as above , many owners in the BMW tuner world simply use them for " style " to enhance the looks by making a wider stance.

Mounting wider tires on the same wheels would actually provide more of a performance benefit - along with the looks - , however adding spacers alone is a cheap method of providing an aesthetic look without also incurring the expense of wider tires or the expense of custom wider wheel and tire combos.

Adding spacers simply for aesthetics as a way to widen the track does change the vehicle suspension geometry and can cause premature tire wear and other negative effects, particularly over time.

Whether one is seeking a performance or an aesthetic benefit, using a well matched wheel and tire combo that bolts up directly is always preferred.

Thank you M3 adjuster! Appreciate the explanation! Also did some reading online about them and the possibility of damage to the ride or the car is just not a risk I want to take on an 80k car. It would be nice to have the same width on the rear as the M40, but I can live. Plus, I think Michelin doesn't make that size in the 4S - and I love these tires. I did get my front windows to match the backs.

Ahhhhhh well then sir ! I agree as well. Only so much investment needed.

Figure if your buying till the wheels fall off then it's worth it .

Or just the front facia is recommended for resale.

Just don't tailgate and you'll be good

I'm also curious about rolling diameter with those tires. Thought xdrive had to be within 1-2% of rolling diameter front and rear. What am I missing?

What happened to needing to keep it under 1% to prevent damaging the xDrive transfer case?

Dude, love the mods to your car!! I'm waiting on one like yours in the Chicago area in 2 weeks :-) Do you mind if I ask how far off your speedo is most times with the larger tires?
