Purchased this in early 2021. Prices have gone up considerably since then and the wait time was brutal (almost 3 months). Initial set-up is straight forward and adding/removing the cargo box is a breeze.

My F98 doesn't have the roof rails or even the 4 pop up sections to bolt the rack too. Has anyone figured out what I would need ? Any help would be great

I use the oem BMW support bars w/ Thule upright bike mounts.

I got the BMW parts from the local dealer but got the Thule parts from the RackAttack.com retail showroom in Austin, TX.
They had everything in stock plus the counter guys there helped me get locks sorted out and even helped me get the Thule racks adjusted properly for Driver & Passenger side!
The BMW x Thule mix works perfect; And they been tested at 90+mph with bikes upright, Zero issues!!

Not sure if it's possible to add roof rails. I remember threads with people looking to remove them but not add. Good luck.

This summer I was searching for the roof carrier system and found a good bit of information about rails....

Here is what I found:

Rails:

Right https://www.bmwpartspros.com/oem-par...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D

Left https://www.bmwpartspros.com/oem-par...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D

A very impressive, detailed DIY installation on an F97. I have to imagine it would be very similar on our F98's.
