Decatted DownPipes

Has anybody done just decatted downpipes?
Was thinking of going for mtc motorsport decat downpipes? With the sensor (added both links below)
Do I need to code the car to stage 2? I use BM3

https://mtcmotorsport.co.uk/collecti...npipes-exhaust

https://mtcmotorsport.co.uk/products...2387&_ss=r

Has anybody done just downpipes in the uk? Could you please add a video of what it sounds like

I mean dont install straight pipes, only with sport cat, otherwise car will be too loud inside and not possible to ride it

first i installed straight pipes (decat)+full akrapovic

was super loud, after i put sport 200 cells cat and became better sound and no noise inside the car

Or just stick with a stock rear exhaust.

I'm only doing downpipes not full exhaust. Have you got sport cats and the akrapovic exhaust? Or just sports cats and standard exhaust?

Mind me asking what sport decats your running?

Try with downpipe first. I've ran catless race DP without the tune and it sounds just fine to me but of course, it also comes down to how loud you really want the car to be, everyone has their own preference.

Any issues with bmw dealer service department once sport cats have been installed?

Will they even notice downpipes have been changed?

I have a service plan so just wondering. Don't want any issues being caused

One startup and I'm sure they will instantly know. I mean they do handle these vehicles on a daily basis.

If you aren't having warranty work done I don't see why it would be an issue. They aren't going to refuse an oil change due to catless downpipes being installed.

Just got Info@mad-us.com decatted downpipes installed. I have my stock competition exhaust.

To me and my wife, it sounds the same when driving normally. I can feel the exhaust more open and the car moves with a bit less effort.

With all modes in sport and heavy acceleration the sound increase is there, but I think the sound increase is not enough for a non car person to tell the difference from stock (at least from the inside of the car). You can hear it more in the upshifts. I have a hard time believing that the dealer will be able to detect it from just driving it. I had to double check my OEM cats to make sure that the downpipes were installed when I picked up the car lol.

I paired it with the Prosport Mini Cat O2 Sensor CEL FIX (90 Degree) ( https://www.oakos.com/PS-PSO2CEL-90.htm ) and it fit flawlessly with no CEL after 50 miles yet. I don't think the check engine light will come on.

The second they connect the car via OBD they will be notified there is a tune installed even if flashed back. Which I don't think you can do on catless DP's.

I thought you had to have a tune to run catless DP's.

I guess the harness adapters OP is asking about would prevent this but he uses BM3 already.

Nope no tune needed. He's got the micro cats in the link to prevent the cel.

Don't you guys ever wonder why I never promote catless downpipe?

You should see the dyno result on catless downpipe by itself without tune vs midpipe by itself without tune.

Well, technically yes.
But, you are in UK. Your vehicle spec may be different than US Spec where not many company making the midpipe.
If you want to take a picture of your midpipe and email it to me with your VIN, I'll be able to look it up which midpipe style that your car have.
