X3MC here in NYC. I looked into insurance and did not do it. Slapped OEM 20's on with winters and car drives a bit more relaxed. It's my understanding that the wheel repairs are never great... and to get a replacement rim requires a catastrophic event.

Ahhhh ok. I’m in Long Island too. I did not buy the package. Keeping fingers crossed that I won’t have any regrets over it. Hoping if ever any damage done, there is a guy not far away from me that apparently does good work on wheels.

Same as above! I didn't spring for the wheel/tire insurance. There are some great shops locally that seem to be able to repair wheels at a reasonable cost.

Go to 631 Coatings and ask for the Transparent Wheel & Tire package, only $1199 for coverage.

Will be curious to check in on this post-pothole season even with the 20's.
Contemplating an X3M next season when my lease is up. Just picked up an X5 for my wife on the 19's and it floats along I may get used to it.

knepsterd looks like we've dodged a bullet thus far in long island.
looking back i dont even think i needed to invest in winter wheels/tires since the temps have been mostly above average. only one measurable snow event IIRC. and pockets of days where the temps were not suitable for summer tires. potholes aren't too much of an issue this winter season fortunatley had i known..i would have just gone with some performance all seasons on the stock 21's |

Anything below 50 degrees has caused my summers grip issues. Also I’m sure we’ll get some snow one of these years! |
