20s do clear the calipers. They're oem on the non comps.19s, err no. I had to sell my 19" winter rims from my M40i when I upgraded.

You think 315's is possible on 20" wheels for x3m comp? r33_RGSport you can chime in as well. Appreciate the feedback guys. Thanks
It may clear.
315 will add 25mm on each end of the sidewall.
It may clear the inside, but tires will be poking out 10mm pass the fender if you run without 15mm spacer.

That would be excessively sticking out, especially now that I lowered. I'll just stick to 295s on these stock rins when I upgrade. Thanks,Ben

Sorry, forgot to put disclaimer, lol.

Those are based on the math number. In actual, it may be different.
Depending on the tire sidewall shape.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the 315s. Running a 21x10.5 +30 ET on 295s it's basically sticking outside of the fender. I actually opted to dial back to a 35 ET on this setup due to all the rocks blasting the rear bumper.

Based on my 295 rear on OEM comp wheels, there is no way any wider clears on the inside without spacers. It is 15 mm closer to fender wall just by going 295s and that is your MAX increase toward inside wall.

To fit 315s I think you would need to do maximum offset of ET29 which would then poke tire 35 mm farther out compared to stock.
(Edited for calc correction)

You need to lower it. It will tuck the top.
While kicking the rock wise, that's a tough one.

I've been following your options on lowering closely. I really wanted M Performance to announce a HAS kit similar to what they've done in the F80. But it's not looking good so maybe I'll give one of the available options a shot.

I don't think any height adjustable spring kit can go any lower than 1"-ish.
The suspension travel on this particular chassis is very short. Especially the front.
The only way to achieve major drop, it would have to be a full coilover system.

That pretty much leaves you with either MSS or H&R or KW HAS if they decided to release one.

Thanks, that one inch drop was just the amount I wanted, although I think it'll look even better once it settles in. Funny thing is, I don't usually get comments from strangers on the car, but last night when they delivered it to me, the gate guard checks my ID and says, "nice ride, I've never seen this model before.". I told him it's a lowered SUV. Then this morning, I go into the police station on base as a cop is coming down the sidewalk. I ask him a question, he answers, then says, "nice car". I've had the car here for a month, and that's never happened once. Drop the ride an inch, and that's twice in 12 hours. Let's just hope they still appreciate it when they pull me over (I wouldn't count on it)

Thanks for the feedback guys. So.im definitely going to go with 20inch wheels. My question you guys is what would be the driving difference if I go 315 or 295 in the rear?

I've been running 295 rear for 6 months now, I don't feel any difference in a bad way.
I would say it gives me more traction surface.

I've noticed a little more tramlining since upsizing to 265/295, and no issues losing traction. I wouldn't go any wider personally.

LOL, you never know. Years ago I was pulled over for speeding in my 2004 Audi S4 by a young MD State Trooper. He also noticed I had no front plate. I did the usual apologizing and said, "My mistake Trooper, I was going with the flow of traffic and not paying attention to my speed" (which was true, I was going the same speed as everyone else in my lane). When he came back to my car, he let me go with a warning and no tickets and said "I bet that thing is fast!".

I think cops/troopers who are car enthusiasts are more likely to let you go with a warning as long as you weren't doing anything reckless, and you handle the pull-over properly.

Haha, sounds like a cool experience indeed. Well, at least agter the fact. It's never fun when you get pulled over and don't know what the outcome will be. I am amazed at much everyone speeds over here. I mean, compared to Europe, our limits are a bit lower (well, a lot lower than the autobahn), but they enforce the limits with little tolerance over there. Mostly with cameras nowadays. Here, it's the opposite. 10x the police on the streets, lower limits, but they seem to let the flow get away with significant overages. Weird. I'm still adjusting to driving here.

I've seen it done on a few m3s so I figured "why not see how it looks on the X3M??"
