This is probably about as good as you're going to get in NJ. So $64879.60 plus taxes/fess/etc?
Judging by the MSRP I am assuming that these are Non-Comps, Executive Package, Driver's Assistance Plus, 21" Wheels, and the M Sport seats with the ventilation upgrade, plus metallic paint? Do they have the crappy spare tire option? It really kills the cargo area unless you are dead-set on having a spare. . |

I'm in the UK and I always find the US "deals" posts impossible to understand, you guys never just quote the "price" or the monthly + deposit, it's always money factor + drive aways + taxes - loyalty - discount etc.......
Surely you could just say what you're actually going to pay? Example, my deal was List price £82,000 (inc tax) Discount £22,500 (inc tax) Deposit £549 Monthly £649 x48 months Simple.

How do you know? The purchase price including taxes isn't stated if it's a cash purchase or monthly/deposit if a lease?

OP stated purchase. At least in the US, purchasing is pretty simple. Taxes vary from state-to-state in the US and there is no getting around them. So in NJ, we pay a 6.625% sales tax on top of the actual purchase price. So this deal would work out to something like this: MSRP: $80,545 Minus 12% discount = $70,869.60 Then they add things like our Department of Motor Vehicle fees (again varies by state), which in NJ is something like $364.50. Plus we have a tire tax fee of $1.50 per tire so $6.00 (unless the car has the spare, then $7.50 The only other area where they can nail you is what they call the "Dealer Documentation fee" which depending upon state, can be as low as $50 but is set by each individual dealership unless there is state law capping the fee. This fee is pretty much pure profit for the dealership once it goes over about $75. You can negotiate this down, but they are not allowed to "discount" this item so they have to take additional money off the "purchase price." NJ is fairly high with these fees, though not as bad as states like Florida). My NJ dealership charged me $424 back in February, which is actually pretty low for the state. So now we have: $70,869.60 Purchase Price $364.50 (or whatever number) NJ DMW fee $6.00 Tire Tax $424 (or whatever) Dealer Documentation Fee = total purchase price of $71.674.10. This is also where any additional "add-ons" like tire+wheel protection plans, clear paint-protection film, or maintenance warranties get added on Then the sales tax gets applied so 6.625% of $71,674.10 so another $4748.41 to bring us up to $76,422.51. Now we finally get to take the rebates off (which sadly only come off the post-tax sales price, which is kind of bull, but the state needs to get its money). So $76,422.51 - $6000 in total rebates equals $70,422.51 final cost in this case (with my made up DMV and Doc fees) Now you can think about financing terms, but while those can also be a source of additional profit, we don't really talk about them in discussing a "good deal" as not everyone qualifies for the best financing terms due to individual credit scores and such. Though if you are purchasing an $80,000 car, you really should have "Tier 1" (top tier) credit. sorry, long answer to a simple question, but that's how purchasing works in the US. Leasing brings a whole different sets of numbers into the equation as well as more areas for a dealership to pad their profit margins (money factor, residual value, etc). |

I specifically hunted for a car with no spare once I saw how much trunk space it cost you. Plus you get the under floor storage area (very useful) and the cool space to put the sliding trunk privacy screen.
Luckily my local NJ dealership had 1 car with my exact build on the lot and matched the best deal I was offered from another dealership. |

10% is a great deal, 12% the dealer is netted out even with holdback, past that they're definitely losing.

I know the GM. Dealer is out of state and he has had this X3M 8 months so he told me if I pick it up by Wednesday this is what he would do for me.
BTW I didn't want to get into all the details but there is a trade involved so it's an even better deal he is giving me 3k more than any dealer in my state I've done my homework here and in the end I'm geting a check from him. Went to four dealers in my state the best was 8% and 3k less for my vehicle. I'm still on the fence because of the newest motortrend mag. They say the ride is killer and that's this vehicle's down fall?? I only drove it a short period of time so it's a tough desicion. The other vehicle he has is a 2021 X5 M50i nowhere near the discount but still much better than where i'm from. HARD DECISION |

The ride issue has been debated at length in many threads. Mags expect it to ride like an SUV, but wouldn't you know it, it rides like an M car. If that's a problem then the X5 is the better choice.

Is the ride stiffer than most, yes but it breaks in. Make sure you have the correct pressure in the tires and lift the seat up about 1/2 inch from lowest adjustment. You will love it. Then hit up bmwparts.com for some black grill, side vents and number badge. oh, depending on you location. Winter tires. Cheers |

Thanks, I know it's a great deal. No dealer will come close to the deal.
It's a Non Comp but I can't see that 30hp is going to make much difference or usable HP. I did ask the dealer about the Black out parts and he said they were very expensive? He did not say what the prices were. It's also not my ideal pick for exterior color the interior is red or orange? I can live with it at the price. Slim pickings now. |
