$75 lumbar fix for 2022+ X3

Hello all, after much frustration I finally have decent lumbar support for the passenger's seat on my car. I highly recommend this mod for anyone with a 2022+ X3.

Here is a list of everything you will need.

Torx Screwdriver (T25-T30), I can't remember for sure.
Plastic Trim removal set from Amazon ($8)
Corbeau lumbar support ($75 shipped)

Instructions:
  1. move seat forward and tilt upright for ease access.
  2. remove seat back cover
  3. insert air bladder with backing plate attached
  4. add towels as necessary to provide tension on the springs
  5. have your passenger pump up the air bladder find a good height for the lumbar support
  6. route hand pump between the passenger's seat and the center console to keep it out of sight
  7. enjoy your new and improved passenger's seat.

Great write up, it’s too bad you didn’t have photos or video of installing the pad and how it stays in place. Easy fix and cost is excellent. I already have those pry tools I bought when I had to remove the trim piece to change out my start push button on my 335i.

It would be interesting to also see the factory lumbar and how BMW installs the factory one what it looks like and how it’s installed. But someone would have to pull apart there seat to see it. Probably no one wants to do that lol

The lumbar bladder is held in place simply with the tension of the seat springs and the towels around it. Nothing else is needed. Now, over time this may fail, but even if it does, it's very east to open up the seat and throw on some zip ties to keep it in place.

I will try to get some more detailed pics later.

Also, I believe it would be possible to retrofit the factor lumber (they are easily found on ebay), but this was a more cost effective option for me.

LMK if you have any questions.

The lumbar is holding up perfectly. I'd say it's pretty much as good as the factory lumbar. For the price I recommend it highly.

No, the heating elements are just under the leather and on front/top side of the foam. The air bladder is between the back side of the foam and springs.

Hello sir, do you think this corbeau lumbar thing would fit the driver side too? Mine doesn't have lumbar support and it's killing my back.
