Weird. I don't have the Sporty option.

I'm nearly certain ASD only affects the speaker, as I've been messing around with it this week. Any perceived difference is likely due to placebo effect.

I coded my M40i to start in Sport Individual mode and yesterday I actually heard the valve open after running for 1-2 minutes. Heard a pop/click sound so I looked down and watched the exhaust cloud split from only right pipe to both. My guess is the valve is governed by driving mode.

ASD is only speaker.... but this setting also influences the exhaust valve.

Me too, perhaps it's a UK thing. Wonder if this is something that can be coded?

Definitely isn't there on my 2020 X3 M40d. I would imagine it can be coded to appear, though.

Do I need to code the ASD off or does this new menu turn it off (mostly) or does it also affect the valves in the exhaust too?
100% the engine sound setting on the I drive 7 does affect the exhaust valves.

I leave it on the 1st setting as this opens the valves when you click sports mode

Second setting which is balanced doesn't seem to open the exhaust valves when in sport mode so I guess it must use a computer to open the valves automatically

The third setting reduced does reduce the sound in the car and I'm guessing it closes valves.
