Next gen 2018 BMW X3 (G01) spied!!
BIMMERPOST NEWS Next gen BMW X3 (G01) spied Updated June 15, 2017 The all new BMW X3 (G01) will be revealed imminently and that means it's now hit the road in its least camouflaged form, revealing nearly all. The X3's shape and lines can all now be seen through the thin camouflage film that remains. Stay tuned to BIMMERPOST as the X3 will have its world debut within the next 1-2 weeks and production begins August! Updated May 6, 2016 with most revealing photos yet of exterior and interior: The next gen X3 (G01) which will hit the market next year, continues testing while showing off more of its exterior and interior. The exterior is shaping up to be sportier than the current model, especially with its stylish new angel eyes, while the interior gets a huge upgrade with its full digital black panel display and extra large iDrive display which appears to be the same as that found in the 7 Series. These prototypes also sport two different sets of wheels. The G01 X3 will begin sales with a sequence of 20(i,d), 30(i,d), and 40i engine designations. The U.S. will receive the 30i and 40i models, but there's also a nice new addition: the European 20d will be sold in the U.S. as 28d (same as F30 328d, but with the B47 engine likely replaced by the N47) - Source. Also, as we recently showed you, the G01 X3 will also be joined by the first ever X3 M (F97) model, which should follow shortly after the introduction of the G01 X3. Updated October 6, 2015 with new photos and the following new info: G01 X3 is being tested with a range of 4- and 6-cyl B engines, and both 30e and 40e PHEV setups. A G08 X3 LWB model is planned for China. Original post March 12, 2015 Time flies! The next gen BMW X3 (G01) has already begun testing. The next X3 is due around 2016-2017 and here's the first spotted prototype. It was spied testing with the current X3, and a check into German records confirmed this prototype registered as an X3. The G01 is expected to ride on the upcoming CLAR platform, which will be shared among all future models from the 3 Series and up. It's still covered in substantial camouflage, so don't be fooled by the heavy covering. The lights are especially covered in a way in order to deceive as to their true shape below. We've also put together some quick comparison photos against the current X3 for a rough idea of how their overall shapes compare. Updated: rendering and preview details from Scott26: Quote:

I'm really hoping BMW steps it up with the design for the X3, cause in my opinion the evoque and macan looks way too good

they have the x4 to compete with the macan and evoque. I hope they tuck that muffler up more. i hate seeing them hanging down like that.

Interior should be #1 priority, X3 loaded is close to double the price of a Mazda CX-5 and the quality of interiors are hardly different.

Yeah, but the X3 and X4 share the exact same interiors (among almost everything else).

It looks long and low...like a wagon. Meh...
I think the new X5 looks longer than the previous model. IMHO, the proportions of the old X5 were better. Personally, I prefer the more SUV-ish proportions of the outgoing X3 and X5 over the long and low look.

This generation is a green light. Also BMW has little to no choice because of the GLA AMG 45. |

By these spy pics, the only difference i saw, was that the F25 looked somewhat lower than the proto. Agreed the interiour is very boring with the F25, they need to make ut much more premium next time around.

Hopefully improve the design front lights and a more subtle fascia.
It is also necessary that the model increase its measures; 1 inch longer and 2 inches wider. It is crucial that because X1 measures comes a very similar to the current X3. Last edited by Pure; 03-13-2015 at 06:07 AM.. |

i'll take the x3 interior over the macan as far as the center console controls though. thats too busy in my opinion. and that square chevy looking info screen. oh and look a random dial clock because we didnt know what to put there!
I really just wish bmw would move the window switches back to the center. i miss that from my e46

I love my current X3, I don't think I would change anything about it. If I wanted a sports car, I would get one. It isn't meant to lap the ring, it's meant to get loaded up to the top in cargo, drive 500 miles through all different weather conditions. On top of all that, do it with ease and comfort. Mine has checked off all of those boxes. Doesn't hurt to have some hp for passing people though |
