Saw an x3M in Greenwich CT today - Donnington with all badges and emblems blacked out - NJ plates.

Looked great, but would've liked to have seen the wheel arches further extended.

Have to disagree on that, I’ve had 3 F8x and my current one has CCB, I’d read the threads about noises, poor performance when cold etc, and it’s simply not true in my case at least. In daily driving they are superb, totally silent 3k miles in, have great pedal feel and don’t do that horrible vibrating graunching noise that the steel discs did. No rust issues and no dust just makes washing so much easier.

Would be the first option I would tick from now on.

It's there, active seat ventilation
I missed that...thanks! Hopefully that is also included on the US offering. Assuming that is the case...count me in either the end of this year or next spring.

Have to disagree on that, I've had 3 F8x and my current one has CCB, I'd read the threads about noises, poor performance when cold etc, and it's simply not true in my case at least. Hey you want to justify spending an extra $10k, that's fine by me. In my experience the only time I've been wanting to have the CCBs is late into an all day track day in 100+ temps. If you aren't doing that often, whatever perceived benefit you are getting is marginal at best. I'm willing to bet the footage stopping distance between the two is pretty damn close. CCBs are great if you want to reduce brake fade over a ton of heavy use. Also, who wants that heavy replacement price tag unless they are actually a track rat?

I'm not trying to convince you that you shouldn't have got them. My point is, there is no practical benefit in DD for an SUV and no market for it on these cars (where there is on the M2,3,5). So I guess your surprise caught me off guard.

I get that this argument can be stretched to "why get an M if..." but I think the $10k price for one option in CCBs is not comparable.

how do you figure, either point?

depreciate like a stone? Ms usually have better residual than non M BMWs, for example a 3-4 year old M3 that stickered at $75K is still worth almost $50K right now.

and over priced? its cheaper than all of its competition (Stelvio Quad, Jaguar F Pace, Mercedes AMG S, Porsche Macan Turbo)

He is in the UK. Cars depreciate there much much worse than in the US.

Not in actual reality. I paid $67k for my Stelvio Quadrifoglio, with discount. Unfortunate for dealers, but fantastic deal for buyers. Not much more than a loaded X3 M40i...let alone the fully priced X3M. Still looking forward to seeing them on the road, but at what out the door price?

Just watch, it will happen as BMW always do this. The M40 has shit the bed in depreciation since launch, due to these ridiculous deals. BMW just want to sell cars, so if they overprice them then discount them quickly, it will fool people into thinking they’ve got a bargain. Then the deals get better, kicking current owners in the nuts.
