Supported models: It's only for the lci x3m and x4m, lci x3 and x4. Badging insert: Will come without the badge and can reuse your existing one. Version: This is only for LHD but if you want RHD, please specify and they will produce it. Installation: Super easy and direct swap. Pop out the current trim and install the new one. They will have instructions and videos if needed. Material: 100% real carbon! From the manufacture: "INDIV's parent company is RID(@rid_bmw), and we specialized in car tuning, strictly for only BMWs. RID has been in the field for over six years, and we are one of the top tuning companies in South Korea. Minh - do you know who the manufacturer is? Definitely interested and the price isn't bad at all which, sadly, leaves me a little leery.

1 Grand for a single cosmetic carbon fiber trim piece? Group buy or group ripoff?

Do you know if the badging portion can be left 'open'? Don't want to be up-badging the interior…

Carbon Fiber is not cheap. A lot of work goes into these parts so $1k is not unexpected. I have an overlay. It’s not structural so not sure what the advantage is on a strictly cosmetic part other than being able to say “it’s real Carbon Fiber”. When I went with M3 shift paddles I went real CF for strength. To each his/her own.

Definitley has the M /// tax in the price. If it gets to 1/2 $$$ where it is would be interested.

Same question here…
Does the entire center console have to come off to swap this piece out?

No it does not. I would rate it 2 out of 10 for difficulty. They will have instructions and videos for the installation as well

I can attest from a product developers point of view that $800 for this is not very high margin, low production quantity and molded carbon fiber is not cheap to produce…. I would be surprised to see a “real” carbon fiber piece sub ~500: because of the plastic over mold and tolerances there’s probably high wastage too.

Beautiful piece but I was hoping it would be inline with MHC or Unit 17 pricing and not BMW Perf. Disappointed, but I guess these pieces take more labor than a diffuser and for other reasons mentioned above. Will be a pass for now unfortunately.
